If you have your own success story and would like to share it with me and the Mark’s Daily Apple community please contact me here. I’ll continue to publish these each Friday as long as they keep coming in. Thank you for reading!

Hi Mark,

Let me start with a massive “THANK YOU”.  I’m a longtime reader and fan and you have truly inspired me in multiple ways. It’s not likely I would be where I am today without your insights, advice, and expertise.

My name is Paul and I’m a 28 year old shepherd in Southern California.  Yes, you read that right – I own and farm Primal Pastures, the largest 100% pastured, grass fed/grass finished lamb farm in Southern California, about an hour away from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego in the city of Temecula. In addition to “Primal Lamb”, we also raise pastured chicken for meat and eggs. But things have not always been this way…

Hi Mark,

Growing up with two parents as doctors, I always felt like I had a basic understanding of health and wellness. I was always a lively, active and rambunctious child, but struggled with a myriad of digestive health issues from the early age of 14. My problems seemed to appear during my sophomore year in high school. During the middle of the school year, I transitioned from the Atkins Diet to a full-fledged bout of Mononucleosis (Mono). For four straight weeks, I ate nothing but Jack In The Box milkshakes (Vanilla or Chocolate, sometimes a swirl of both…). When I finally started eating solid food again, my stomach was completely wrecked, and things didn’t work themselves out the way I anticipated. All of the sudden, I had a sluggish digestive system and on the daily was plagued with chronic abdominal discomfort.

Mark,

I’ve been crafting this letter and meaning to send it for the past oh, six months or so. What finally spurred me on to finish and send it? Your latest post on dark chocolate! I’ve been reading your blog for some time, so I know that you are on board with eating dark chocolate. Well, the purpose of this letter is to tell you what success eating Primally has had in my life, my husband’s life and my sister-in-law’s life. It’s also to tell you how the Primal life got me to think about life outside the box, which resulted in me quitting my job and starting my own business…a business which is in keeping with Primal principles.

Hi Mark,

My Primal journey began in the spring of this year when I found MDA and got my copy of the Primal Blueprint, and continues to this day. I had been following Movnat for over a year and I understood the concept of dieting, and exercising, in a way that mimics our hunter-gatherer ancestors, but had not found any tools to point me in the right direction towards a lifestyle that made such perfect sense to me. The Primal Blueprint gave me what I was looking for and so much more. I am happy to have lost weight and gained strength and endurance, but what I was not expecting was the all-encompassing lifestyle that the book laid out for me. I am healthier than ever. I can interpret the signals that my body is sending me appropriately, and as a result, I continue to do what is right for my body. The aspects of Primal living that defy modern conventional wisdom are the things that come naturally to me! I love getting plenty of sunlight and feeling good about it! I have been shocked at how mild seasonal allergies have disappeared. My whole life I have always thought: “At some point in our history, we didn’t wear shoes, and were just fine. We didn’t take anti-histamines… because we shouldn’t be allergic to the world that we live in. You don’t see a whole lot of tigers with the sniffles…” and other things of that nature.

In the Best Shape of My life!

My name is J.J. Valdivia and I am a 24 year old personal trainer down in Miami, Florida. First and foremost, I cannot thank you enough for the impact that your book and website have made on my life. I have been Primal now for almost one year and I am in the best shape of my life! I am 5’11, 165 lbs and carry around 6% body fat.

Before discovering The Primal Blueprint I hovered at around 10-12% body fat and weighed in at around 175-180 pounds. All this considering I now exercise less than I ever have my entire life! I used to train six days a week religiously. I would alternate between one day of one hour circuit weight training and another day of one hour chronic cardio. I would count each and every calorie and needless to say I was miserable. I have always been into “health and fitness” and I was convinced that I was doing everything right, or so I thought. Constant overtraining mixed with a high carb, low fat diet led to binge eating on the weekends and a continuous cycle that led nowhere. I was always starving even though I was eating 5-6 small meals a day! Not only that, but I looked exactly the same and saw no results. That was one year ago…
