Primal Essential Movement: Squat

As one of the Primal Essential movements, a squat is one of those cornerstone moves everyone should be able to do. In fact, I’d probably call it the most important of the PEMs—particularly for our health and mobility as we age. Squats are key to the maintenance of bone health and lower body strength.

If you haven’t done squats for a while, don’t be intimidated. You can get there again! I’ve got two great progressions that offer an assist as you ease back into the pattern—as well as tips for the perfect form and suggested repetitions.
