inline_EarlGreyCollagenFatBombs03The good folks at Pique Tea have stopped in this week to serve up two awesome keto recipes to our Primal crowd. Enjoy these rich and chocolatey Keto Earl Gray Collagen Fat Bombs today, and be sure to check back Wednesday morning for a tasty collagen latte. Good stuff. Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

While a good Primal diet offers much in the way of healthy, varied fats, with keto it’s helpful to have extra strategies for incorporating additional good fats. That’s where these two dairy-free keto recipes make the perfect on-the-go breakfast, snack, meal replacement, you-name-it, throughout the day. They keep you fuller, for longer, while letting you experience the many benefits from tea polyphenols. Tea is full of a type of antioxidants called catechins that suppress appetite and stimulate metabolism. Tea caffeine also increases your metabolic rate so your body burns off excess calories and body fat to boost ketone levels faster.

And here’s what makes these Keto Earl Grey Collagen recipes so special. Not only do you gain all the major benefits of collagen and a healthy dose of nutrient-dense fat from coconut oil, you’ll also get the nutritional benefits of tea polyphenols. One of the original superfoods, tea polyphenols have long been used in traditional medicine for both its high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea is also a natural prebiotic that feeds your gut with healthy bacteria, balancing the bio flora in your gut. A healthy balance of gut bacteria will provide you with more energy, improved digestion, reduced stress, stronger immunity, to even glowing skin.

So, you can be sure these easy keto Earl Grey recipes offer more than their share of both delicious flavor and essential nutrients. Today, we used Pique Tea Crystals for an Earl Grey kick in our fat bombs. It is an easy way to get the most pure, potent tea antioxidants alongside the collagen benefits in these Collagen Fuel packets. Each Pique Tea sachet contains up to 12x the antioxidants (third-party verified) than regular teas and is the first of its kind to triple screen for mycotoxins, mold and heavy metals.

  1. I’ll be doing this… actually, wife will be doing this one but with an awesome twist, she’ll be adding the crunchy goodness of egg shells. Do you remember the crunchy cool feeling of chomping down on M&Ms… it’s like that but way, way better!

Eggshells also contain protein (type I collagen), magnesium, selenium, strontium and numerous other compounds to help augment your bones and joints.

The eggshell membrane is rich in glycosaminoglycans, such as dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and sulfated glycoproteins including hexosamines… there’s also the hyaluronic acid.

Summation, this added twist is a potent therapeutic for joint and connective tissue health on top of the Collagen Fuel.

Anyone interested… start storing up your used pastured, organic egg shells in the fridge. On a Saturday afternoon, toss ’em in a huge pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Then, spread them on a baking sheet and push ’em into the oven for a good 30-45 minutes or so, until they’re totally dry and crispy. Now, you can pulverize them and add them smoothies and salads (or) you can leave ’em good sized chunks and add to your decadent chocolate recipes like this one.

I’m tell’n ya, it’s totally worth the extra effort, and if you make enough in one session, it’ll last ya for a month. Now off to order that Pique Tea!

    1. How would I prepare these if I wanted to use regular Earl Gray tea?Join the discussion

    2. Eggshells…I oven dried and ground some to supplement raw fed rescue cat. She was unimpressed so waste not, we will consume them.

      1. I love that you love your furry companion to go through such effort… that’s real love, Rose! You likely know by now that there’s exactly zero taste to those egg shells… just crunchy, nourishing goodness that’s teeming with lively texture!

If I may make a suggestion for your little carnivore… Grass Fed Beef Liver is never a let down. Our four legged friends instinctively know that this belongs in their biology. Try to pick up a pound at your local farmer’s market or butcher shop… if that doesn’t work out, you can always buy a pasture-raised, grass finished supplement version of the stuff! Just open a capsule or two, add a little water to make a paste… enjoy the show.

        1. I think it was the texture put her off, Liver King. Chicken liver was acceptable and I’m due to collect my supply of beef liver and heart from the butcher who’s a strong grass fed advocate. Weekly liver for both of us! This is Aust and GF is readily available.

    3. That is fascinating! Thanks for the recipe. I imagine this would help strengthen teeth as well as other bones etc. as you say.

  2. Love this idea, and love the floral garnish. I’ll definitely check out Pique teas. I’ve never really taken to the name fat bomb, but just posted something similar on IG. I used the Vanilla Coconut Collagen Fuel, cashew butter and some raw cacao. Melted all together and poured into cute bunny molds for fun. These totally kept me going last night when I worked a 12 hour bartending shift. Definitely feel going Keto keeps me energized and focused on long days.

  3. When I click on the link I can only find primal fuel to buy not collagen fuel is this the same product?

  4. These look so inviting. I am looking forward to making these soon. I love the ingredients as well. I use most of them frequently. Thank you.

  5. This looks incredible! Thank you so much for sharing! I need to try both Pique Tea and Primal’s collagen right now.
