Let me introduce myself. My name is Mark Sisson. I’m 63 years young. I live and work in Malibu, California. In a past life I was a professional marathoner and triathlete. Now my life goal is to help 100 million people get healthy. Black Friday—Worker Bee Style

Today, as previously announced, we’re upending  tradition (and our usual blog schedule) to do something different. On Tuesday, I shared alternatives to the customary Black Friday lines.

Today I’ve turned over the blog to some of our Mark’s Daily Apple, Primal Blueprint, Primal Kitchen, and Primal Health Coach “worker bees” who are generously sharing what they’re doing today to get outside and spend time with those they love.

Instead I’ll take my two young horses for a leisurely walk down the road. It helps expose them to new sights, sounds, and smells—all of which are good training opportunities for a couple of untrained baby horses—and it’s an excuse for me to get a few miles of walking in.” — Erin Power

  1. Beautiful pictures and great sentiments, thanks for sharing one and all! It’s a beautiful day here in central Ohio, going to take a walk in a local garden and herb park, work out a bit, play with my Golden Retriever, and later on tonight swim a couple of laps and sit in the sauna.     However, I did go for a long walk yesterday, my day off.

    I’m thankful everyday so no celebration for me, just grateful to have the day off.

  3. I went for a swim in the ocean and took a long walk today. No shopping, just enjoying nature…

  4. I did push-ups, pull-ups, squats and bike sprints. Also went for a walk outside in the sunshine, then took an ice cold shower, cooked two steaks and ate them.

    I gave blood to the Red Cross today and ate leftover Rendeng.

  6. Loved seeing how the worker bees spent their Black Friday! I worked all day (mixing drinks for Black Friday shoppers lol!) but managed to squeeze in two morning walks and a chilling evening walk where I got to look up at the stars. Between my walks and the time on my feet at work I logged over 24,000 steps, so I think I got my movement in for the day. There is nothing that I need or want badly enough to stand in line and fight crowds for.

  7. Did my Black Friday shopping in the forest. It was a great time, just being quiet and listening to the wind in the evergreens, but no suitable deer wandered in range. Next time, I guess.

  8. I like this post today, something different and nice to meet some of the bees. Thanks for sharing.

    I stayed home with my boys, in for the holidays. I also raked leaves for three hours in the 50 degree sunshine on Friday. Great way to burn off yesterday’s feast and beer.

  9. I’m catching up on some blog reading, so I’ll share what I did do for Black Friday. I live in MA, about 10 miles west of Boston. I have 2 boys that both play youth ice hockey, so we spent Thanksgiving weekend on Cape Cod for a hockey tournament. On Black Friday itself, I went to CrossFit Cape Cod where I got a great workout in, and met some awesome people. After that, time at the hotel with my family and team mates, kids jumping in and out of the pool, and some awesome salmon for dinner at the hotel bar/restaurant with my love.
