Weekend Link Love – Edition 170

First off, Happy Holidays to every Primal enthusiast and MDA fan out there! As my small gift to you (well, some of you, at least, that have been requesting this for a long time), the Success Stories page has been updated so that stories are listed chronologically with the most recent story at the top of the first page. It’s sort of a Success Story blog within a blog. This should make browsing the stories much easier. Stay tuned as the new pages are updated with archived and new stories in coming weeks.
Remember forest bathing ? It works in the ocean, too, and a Northern Californian marine biologist-cum-Gap model is raising ocean conservation awareness by capitalizing on humanity’s innately positive response to sand, waves, reefs, and things with gills and/or blowholes. Check out the website . Even if you hate the ocean, you get a cool marble.
A group of longtime, diehard vegans and vegetarians get together to talk about eating animals and arrive at the conclusion that…. doing so can be healthy, ethical, and good for the environment?!?
Denise Minger brings the pain yet again , albeit this time to a slightly surprising victim: our own biases and sacred cows.
Less is more : hormetic responses to small (versus large) doses of ionizing radiation, detailed; standard theory of linear dose-response relationship of radiation to DNA damage, questioned.
Correlative data suggests meat might do a growing body good .
Weston A. Price Foundation offal-eating members who moonlight as Olympic hopefuls (I hear Sally Fallon has a killer breaststroke) may want to modulate their liver consumption before the Olympic trials; experts are saying that eating liver from clenbuterol-fed animals may cause false positives in tests for the banned substance . Wowzers.
A 54-year old former Marine just broke the world record for the longest plank held – by thirty minutes – by holding one for over an hour and twenty consecutive minutes!
Time Magazine contributor writes about his success with intermittent fasting , commenters jump to conclusions and warn about muscle wasting and hamstrung metabolisms. Rinse, repeat.
One year ago (Dec 19 – Dec 25)
I like to take this time to not only celebrate the solstice, but take stock of my Celtic roots. Autumn celebration of harvesting for me means the making food and other typoes of projects I can use to spend with my close friends and family. Personally I think the best gift to give in this time of the year is just that, time. Time with friends or family to try out a new hobby, explore a new place, or go on a little vacation.
I should also mention I am a bit materialistic and sent the Primal Blueprint to a few friends and family.
