Top Ten Reasons to Pre-Order the Primal Blueprint!

book cover only 2I know, I know – you’re ready for more Primal content, but with the site revamping and the book arriving come a few things I need to get out of the way first. I’ve already mapped out the new features, and I think you guys are well aware of changes, but today I wanted to focus on exactly why pre-ordering The Primal Blueprint makes sense, even for longtime readers of the blog.

If you like MDA, you’ll love the PB.
Think of The Primal Blueprint as encapsulating and building off of everything you love about the Apple. The book is a cohesive, overarching look at the Primal life and how it can be fused with the modern life. Don’t get me wrong – I love writing the blog, but the book gave me the opportunity to gather all the fitness and nutrition concepts I’ve been thinking about for the last couple decades in a single comprehensive volume.

Autographed copy to first 1000 pre-orders.
I’m actually quite proud of my signature, always have been. You can let me know if I have a right to be. Of course, I had to practice before signing the books.

Free shipping and handling for a limited time.
It’s always the shipping and handling that gets you, isn’t it? If you pre-order now, you can avoid that and get the book for flat fee. (Disclaimer: Free shipping to US customers only.)

Be the first on the block to receive it – and get a first edition hardcover copy.
If The Primal Blueprint takes off (and I think it will), you’ll always know that you were on the forefront of the movement. You know how you snicker at the people reading the movie editions of novels or the books with “Oprah’s Book Club” emblazoned on the front? With the first edition of The Primal Blueprint, you’ll be the one laughing your way to health.

It will change your life and give you the kick start you probably need.
You’re ready to lose weight, get fit, and improve your health – this book describes the easiest, quickest way to do it. Everything you need for your new journey toward lasting health is outlined in the book, and the blog will bring up the rear and focus on any loose ends.

Because you’ve enjoyed MDA for years.
It all started here. This blog gave me the freedom to write about what I please, and to hear back from you guys about what you did and didn’t like. It gave you the opportunity to hear about exciting new ideas and new ways to live. I’ve probably learned more from you and your comments than anything else, and the book is the realization of that shared knowledge. If the book is successful, the blog will allow us to engage in a constant back-and-forth, a tweaking and clarifying that will expand upon the book’s content and result in an evolving mutual understanding of human nutrition, fitness, and wellness. Without the blog, I doubt I’d get many pre-orders, and without the book, the blog is incomplete.

If you don’t like it, I’m offering a 100% money back guarantee.
Just give it a real shot – a concerted attempt at following The Primal Blueprint laws – if only for a couple weeks, and you can have your money back if you don’t notice an appreciable improvement in body composition, health, or overall lifestyle. If you really try it, I’m absolutely certain you’ll love it.

Because you want to spread the PB message.
Every book that’s purchased brings us one step closer to expanding the community. In a world where the health and wellness of others has a measurable effect on everyone (rising health care costs, childhood obesity, degenerative diseases), it’s more important than ever to spread the message that optimum health, fitness, and nutrition is actually pretty simple. Maybe then you won’t have to hide your sardines at lunch or get weird looks when you hold the bun.

On that note, pre-ordering three gets you the fourth for free.
What better way to spread the message than to give The Primal Blueprint as gifts to friends and relatives? Sometimes, just giving a book is easier than lugging around a soapbox everywhere you go (although it can be a great workout). Order three books and get the fourth one for free.

Because you’ve waited long enough already!
Early on in the life of MDA, I got a lot of requests for a book. Every week people would ask me when it was releasing. Well, I listened. I spent many long nights writing the best book about the Primal life I could. Now it’s your turn.

You want comments? We got comments:

Imagine you’re George Clooney. Take a moment to admire your grooming and wit. Okay, now imagine someone walks up to you and asks, “What’s your name?” You say, “I’m George Clooney.” Or maybe you say, “I’m the Clooninator!” You don’t say “I’m George of George Clooney Sells Movies Blog” and you certainly don’t say, “I’m Clooney Weight Loss Plan”. So while spam is technically meat, it ain’t anywhere near Primal. Please nickname yourself something your friends would call you.

  1. I ordered 4 copies, one for me and 3 to give away. The only problem is that the ‘buy 4, shipping is free’ doesn’t apply outside of the continental USA!

  2. I know. That’s a drag, but it costs us a ton to ship this ANTWHERE. It’s a heavy book (literally and figuratively)

  3. #11 If you have any concern for your own health, fitness and well being, you owe yourself a copy of PB.

Plus, after all the amazing free resources offered here, I think it’s time to ante up and get the book. Mine’s been ordered since day one and I can’t wait… :)

    Cheers,
    Adam

  4. I’ve ordered 4 copies and have already promised 3 of the copies to family and friends that are curious about PB.

I’m in Canada and don’t care about the absence of the free shipping – I know it will be well worth it.

I’ve been following MDA since the beginning of the year and it has made a significant very positive difference for me already. I concur with what Adam is saying – time to ante-up.

  5. No convincing needed for me. It is done! While the blog is very comprehensive and gives great insights, advice, suggestions, information, etc, there is nothing like sitting down and reading solid information out of a book. It will be prominently sitting on my coffee table for all to see.

  9. It’s not like I don’t want to pre-order the book. It’s just that stupid credit card thing. Amazon for the rescue!

  10. I ordered 4 copies and can not wait to get them! This should be standard reading in school. It would eliminate a lot of health problems in the world. People are so uneducated its amazing.

  15. Just ordered a copy for me and the husband. He’s really interested, and I think the PB could benefit him A LOT. He used to be a competitive martial artist, his body has taken quite the beating, and it’s hard for him to exercise strenuously, but he’s eager to get back in shape, and I really think this will help him. We’re excited about it. Thanks Mark!

  21. Mark, will the book be available at Amazon.com/Amazon.ca. The shipping fee is a little bit high for Canadian customers.

JSun wrote on May 20th, 2009
  22. Yikes! When I ordered my book, I (foolishly) thought Canada would be part of the free shipping offer. What will the shipping cost be, and will you ship by United States Postal Service or by courier?

Don wrote on May 20th, 2009
  23. JSun and Don, it will be on Amazon.com soon, but we will still be shipping it. Unfortunately, Canada is like most other “foreign” addresses and 1) is expensive to ship a book to and 2) still requires that my staff take time filling out a customs form for every single item (including books). Sorry….it’s worth it, though.

Mark Sisson wrote on May 20th, 2009
  24. No need to apologize, Mark, as the others have said here, I’m sure it will be worth it! But I hope you are sending it by United States Postal Service as that will keep the customs costs to a minimum (the brokerage fees charged by couriers are brutal). LOL, I hope we Canadians don’t sound like cheapskates!! Trust me, we are happy you aren’t limiting your initial release to the United States. I can’t wait to see the result of your hard work.

Don wrote on May 20th, 2009
  25. If you were one of the first 1000 do you still get free shipping if you’re in Canada?

  26. Mark, I got your book on Thursday and have already finished it. I have been eagerly awaiting it ever since I heard about it. It was well worth the wait. Fantastic job! Thanks so much for sharing all your knowledge with us!
