Top Ten Reasons to Pre-Order The Primal Blueprint Cookbook

3D cover cookbookUPDATE: The 72 Hour Pre-Order Offer has expired. If you didn’t make the cut off, don’t fret! Pre-order a copy of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook today and you can still get a free Primal Blueprint Poster and free domestic S&H (international S&H is now $9.95). Grok on!

I’m very excited to announce that in just a few weeks’ time The Primal Blueprint Cookbook will begin shipping! Since the release of The Primal Blueprint last year countless readers have encouraged me to write and publish a cookbook. Not one to disappoint, I teamed up with professional chef Jennifer Meier to put together the definitive Primal recipe book. This perfect companion to The Primal Blueprint includes over 100 all-new (never before seen on MDA), mouth-watering recipes with easy-to-follow instructions and nearly 400 brilliant, full-color, glossy photographs to guide and inspire you to cooking and eating Primally.

To mark this occasion and to thank loyal Mark’s Daily Apple readers I’ve put together a special 72-hour limited-time pre-order offer for you. Continue reading to learn why you should pre-order your copy of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook today!

1. Get 20% off the cover price.

Pre-order The Primal Blueprint Cookbook in the next 72 hours (offer expires at 10 am PST, Thursday, April 22) and you’ll save 6 bucks off the regular retail price.

2. Get a FREE Primal Blueprint Poster ($14.95 value).

PBposter thumb 1

Released just a few weeks ago this 24×30 inch PB Poster (click the thumbnail to zoom in) illustrates the core Primal Blueprint fitness, diet and lifestyle behaviors, with sections devoted to the 10 Laws, the Primal Blueprint Fitness Pyramid, Food Pyramid and Carbohydrate Curve.

You can get one for FREE by pre-ordering a copy of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook within the next 72 hours (offer expires at 10 am PST, Thursday, April 22).

3. Autographed copy for first 1000 Pre-orders. (now expired)

In the interest of avoiding carpal tunnel I’m going to have to end the autograph offer. The 20% discount, free poster and free S&H offer will still stand until Thursday, 10 am PST, but if I don’t cut off the autograph offer now I’m going to end up with a frozen hook of a hand.

4. Get FREE Shipping and Handling for a limited time.

Shipping and handling is a pain, isn’t it? If you pre-order now, you can avoid the shipping costs and get the book for a flat fee. (Disclaimer: Free shipping to US customers only. Reduced shipping and handling (only $5.99) for all international orders.)

5. If you like MDA recipes, you’ll love The Primal Blueprint Cookbook.

With years of Primal recipe blog posts behind us we’ve gained some valuable insight into how to create simple meals that taste great and are good for you. We took this experience to the kitchen and then spent innumerable hours designing, testing and distilling the best that Primal Blueprint meals have to offer. With chapters devoted to each of the following categories we’re sure there is something for everyone: Meat, Offal, Fowl, Seafood, Vegetables, Eggs, Primal Substitutes, Marinades, Sauces and Dressings, Desserts, Beverages. The book includes delicious recipes like Roasted Leg of Lamb with Herbs and Garlic, Salmon Chowder with Coconut Milk, Tomatoes Stuffed with Ground Bison and Eggs, and Baked Chocolate Custard to name just a few.

And to be clear, The Primal Blueprint Cookbook is not the same as the Reader-Created Primal Recipe Book. The PB Cookbook is filled with exclusive, never before seen recipes, while the Reader-Created Cookbook will be comprised of recipes featured on MDA and likely won’t be available for at least 6 months.

6. It will change your life and give you the kick start you probably need.

You’re ready to lose weight, get fit, and improve your health, but you don’t know where to begin! This book tells you exactly what to eat and how to prepare it in easy-to-follow instructions and with step-by-step photos. No more guesswork needed. Just flip open the book for Primal-certified breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes.

7. Because you can’t find this anywhere else.

Until now, high-quality, full-color cookbooks written for the growing Primal/paleo communities have been difficult to come by. Where else can you find grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, high-fat/low-carb recipes that would make Grok proud? If a cookbook without pasta, bread, rice and beans makes sense to you (and even if it doesn’t!), this book is for you.

8. If you don’t like it, I’m offering a 100% money back guarantee.

Just try the recipes for a month and I’m sure you’ll be hooked. If you don’t notice an appreciable improvement in body composition and health, or don’t find this to be the best Primal/paleo/low-carb cookbook on the market return it and I’ll refund your money. Just one taste of any recipe and I’m absolutely certain you’ll love it.

9. Be the first on the block to receive it.

The Primal Blueprint Cookbook is scheduled to begin shipping in May, and will not be available in stores or online retailers (including Amazon.com) for several months. You can only get it from PrimalNutrition.com. So grab your copy today to avoid the wait, and to get the official early adopter badge. (Disclaimer: The early adopter badge doesn’t really exist. Reference to the early adopter badge was only inserted for the purpose of eliciting a few chuckles. Please don’t email me about not receiving an early adopter badge with your cookbook.)

10. Because you’ve waited long enough already!

Even before the release of The Primal Blueprint last year I was receiving requests for a cookbook. Once I announced my intentions to write one, every week people would ask me when it would be available. Well, it’s nearly here. Jennifer and I spent many long nights writing the best book about Primal food we could. Now it’s all yours.

So pre-order today and get a first edition, hardcover, autographed copy of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook at 20% off the cover price with a FREE Primal Blueprint Poster and FREE shipping and handling. Thanks, everyone, and Grok on!

Imagine you’re George Clooney. Take a moment to admire your grooming and wit. Okay, now imagine someone walks up to you and asks, “What’s your name?” You say, “I’m George Clooney.” Or maybe you say, “I’m the Clooninator!” You don’t say “I’m George of George Clooney Sells Movies Blog” and you certainly don’t say, “I’m Clooney Weight Loss Plan”. So while spam is technically meat, it ain’t anywhere near Primal. Please nickname yourself something your friends would call you.

  1. Just placed my order. Can’t wait, as this is the hardest part of the lifestyle (the menu) that we’ve had.

  2. Hi Mark.

    Congrats on the new book!

Do you have some kinda package deal for both the Primal Blueprint and the cookbook?

    Shipping to Singapore.

    Thanks.

    • Not yet, Adam, but I may put together some sort of package like this in the future. Stay tuned!

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • I bought the package! I still have you get your original book though i wish it was that and the poster ;) maybe your main book and a t-shirt next time….

  8. Bummer the pricing for books through Primalnutrition.com can’t compete with Amazon.

    Pre-order or wait for cheaper… pre-order or wait for cheaper… hmmm… free poster… autograph… more money… on fence.

CJ wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • Yes, as I mentioned, The Primal Blueprint Cookbook isn’t available on Amazon.com and won’t be for several months. When it is available it will likely be marked down from the $29.99 cover price. By how much is yet to be determined. This 20% mark down is a sure thing… at least for the next 72 hours! :) And yes, obviously, you wouldn’t get the autograph and poster. Whatever you decide I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • Your talking about $1.76 as per Amazon. Thats pretty close and a much shorter wait and poster.

mike wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • CJ, also remember that on Amazon, shipping is NOT included in the price. So you’ll have to pay an additional $3.99 S&H, which brings it to over $24.00 anyway.

Mark is giving you the better deal – by far! So, as far as I am concerned, I’m getting the beef straight from the farm! =) Mark and his team deserve the credit anyway.

Primal Pocahontas wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • CJ, what else would you spend that 2 bucks you saved on anyway? It doesn’t seem like much of a decision to me, I just pre-ordered mine and I’m in the UK (no free shipping..)

Adam wrote on April 21st, 2010
  9. Done! So excited!

Todd wrote on April 19th, 2010
  10. Thank you for not only the cookbook, but the autograph, the poster, and the free shipping!

Note to those of you bemoaning the possible future discount from Amazon: Don’t you think Mark and his staff deserve the $ credit for the cookbook? Bear in mind that royalties from Amazon will be much less rewarding to them than what they receive from selling the book directly.

sharonll wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • Thanks for the support, sharonll. Yes, self-publishing a book isn’t cheap! It would be great to recoup some of that expense before all the major booksellers start distributing. Either way I hope the book can help as many people as possible. Grok on!

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
  11. ….but is it rice (???) on the front cover?

  13. This is GREAT Mark…I’m so pumped. Just pre-ordered a second ago.

I agree with the previous post. Mark deserves big credit for this book. It’s going to affect everyone who buys it in a very positive way. Why let a third party collect coin? Because you want to save some moolah? $24 for your health and well beaing….if you can’t pull that off…ehhh.

And I echo someone else’s comment from above – this is by far the HARDEST part of primal living. Love the salad, though – can’t get enough of it – can’t wait to see what’s in this book!!

    Thanks again,
    Adam K.

JohnOTD wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • You’ll get an autograph, JohnOTD.

But to everyone else, there’s no telling how quickly we’ll get to 1000. I’d expect if you get your order in within the 72 hour period you’ll have a good chance of getting an autograph. But don’t drag your feet if this matters to you as there is no telling how fast we’ll reach the limit.

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010

Apurva wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • Everything seems operational on our end, Apurva. My only recommendation would be to make sure you are using a recent version of FireFox or Internet Explorer of Google’s Chrome. Safari has a known bug that still hasn’t been resolved. It affects many sites, ours being one of them. This may be the problem.

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • Ah, I was using Safari. I have ordered the book successfully using firefox.

I have been intending to add variety to my cooking repertoire for a long while, and this book promises to be the perfect catalyst for that.

When can we expect to have the book in our hands?

        Thanks,
        Apurva

Just wanted to give you a huge THANK YOU for getting this book out sooner than I expected. I’ve been waiting and thought you weren’t going to release it until summer. I was so excited to see the pre order offer! Within one minute of seeing the offer it was ordered!

You offer an invaluable service here, Mark. Just the information that you give here on the site is worth 24 bucks, much less the book AND the poster! Awesome deal, thanks again and keep up the good work!

  27. The website doesn’t default to HTTPS for secure online ordering.

I was able to add the “S” and proceed with checkout.

There are plenty of code examples online that show how to fix the site so everyone uses the SSL certificate.

MAS wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • My tech team is telling me that the site is 100% secure. Apparently the page where you enter your data doesn’t need to be https… it’s the next page that matters. When you submit your data it is sent over a secure network and this is made clear on the second checkout page (which is https). I hope that makes sense.

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • Yeah, I noticed the same issue and just stuck the “S” in myself.

Mikey wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • There is no way for the user to know this when entering their credit card data from a non-HTTPS page.

You could lose a few sales from users that don’t see that padlock icon on the page they are entering their data. If I were on your tech team, I’d make sure the entire checkout process was done on the HTTPS. Builds trust. It is also an easy thing to fix.

MAS wrote on April 19th, 2010
  28. Brilliant! :D Unfortunately I don’t think i’ll be able to pre order untill close to the end of this 72 hour period. Heres hoping the 1000 autographed copies arnt gone! Either way looking foward to trying out these recipes, thanks Mark!

Does the poster ship right now or at the same time as the book? On my order receipt it just showed the book, so I wasn’t sure.

Rebekah wrote on April 19th, 2010
    • Ah, not this time around. But we’re thinking of doing more cookbooks in the future. If we do we might consider adding nutritional info.

Mark Sisson wrote on April 19th, 2010
      • At least put the nutritional info online for us to better enable us to educate ourselves.

I just ordered my copy – I’ve been looking for primal/paleo cookbooks for when I start med school in August (I refuse to live on pre-packaged and fast foods like many of my classmates will be doing, I’m sure!), so I’m really excited about getting this.

  37. Hi Mark!

Kudos for the discount and a pretty sexy looking cookbook. I had a momentary panic whenever the primal nutrition site wouldn’t load for me, but I kept trying and put a preorder through as soon as possible. :)

I didn’t realize, however, that the book won’t ship until mid-May. I might be moving around that time, so in the off chance that I need to have my copy sent to a new address, can I just email you? Or should I call the support number available on the primal nutrition website?

Thanks a lot! And keep up the fantastic work!

Matt wrote on April 19th, 2010
