Great post, Mark. I see a huge drop in my functioning when I don't get enough sleep. My day job requires me to be "on" because I deal directly with people who are often stressed or in crisis. I learned early on that missing a good night's sleep doesn't work for me at all.

Good post and nice looking blog (I found you through the guest article you did for Rusty's Fitness Black Book). I always feel a lot better after I've had a good sleep. Got to agree with Almost Vegetarian though; "Knowing this and putting it into action is another thing, entirely".

Excellent post, unfortunately each time more and more people have sleeping disorders, we already know many damages for health in the short and long term, but i suspect there are still many problems to find out in the future. We have to change direction or we'll have a very sick world population in a very near future. Each time we have more stress, depressions, and many many mental and nervous system problems.

Good post, this. I have always believed in the value of sleep. Sure, it makes you more alert, but it also makes you happy and healthy.

Of course, knowing this and putting it into action is another thing, entirely.

Cheers!
