Boy that made me hungry!
No venison here but I have some rabbit, going to give this a go.
That looks delicious! Perfect for holidays.
Dear Justin,
If you’re going to steal a recipe from BBQ Addicts/Burnt Fingers you should probably give them credit in your video. Replacing pork w/ venison doesn’t make it any more “primal” than it already was.
Dear Sik,
In Justin’s defense, bacon explosion recipes are all over the internet. Do we really know who posted the recipe first or even who actually came up with the recipe and didn’t post it?
Exactly – it’s not remotely unique, but it is still tasty.
I made a ridiculous “bacon pig” nearly three years ago:

(forgive the silly messy website style)
well that was a few months before the bbq addicts blog post I believe
There are a thousand bacon explosion recipes all over the internet, and I’m sure there were plenty of them out there before “BBQ Addicts/Burnt Fingers.” Get off of your high horse.
Wow, Slk has a point: http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/
why don’t people who cook like this ever invite me over to dinner? !!!! i am going deer hunting saturday for the first time ever and if i get one i’m making that bacon explosion…and i don’t care whose idea it was initially–i guess most combos of foods have been done before so one could inadvertently come up with something someone else already has cooked, thanks for taking the time to show it to us Justin
That looks seriously tasty. I will be trying this soon!
my favorite bacon explosion experiment replaced the core of bacon bits with a port tenderloin…
outstanding!
There’s still a big following for this recipe. I’ve taken it to a whole new level with http://tipsforBBQ.com/Recipes/Pork/BaconExplosionRevisited
The cheese, pepperoni and prosciutto absolutely make it. Don’t leave em out!
