I love tip #3 - I tend to FREAK out over little indiscretions.

I'm like you Migraineur - I always bring something that I would find healthy and would eat. Besides watching out for the health of my friends, it also saves me in case it is the ONLY healthy thing there:)

I have recently made a rule to never serve anything at a dinner party that I myself won't eat. This means no bread, no potatoes, no rice, and fruit or cheese or nuts for dessert. If anyone has even noticed, they haven't been rude enough to comment.

Great post! Number 2 is of the utmost importance to keeping your sanity. I regularly have a couple squares of 85% Lindt dark chocolate and/or a tasty beer (not Budweiser!). I figure in the grand scheme, neither is going to hurt me, especially given that the beer is usually coming after a salad twice the size of most people's family vegetable bowl.

Also, as to #3: people probably do themselves more damage by worrying about the cookie they just ate than the cookie itself will do.

Cheers
