Meet Mark

Let me introduce myself. My name is Mark Sisson. I’m 63 years young. I live and work in Malibu, California. In a past life I was a professional marathoner and triathlete. Malibu Fires Update

By Mark Sisson
9 Comments

Quick update on our situation:

As many of you know, my company, Primal Nutrition, is based in Malibu. The fires came very close but thankfully no one was hurt. (Our offices are singed – the flames were right there – but everything is O.K.) As of today, Malibu is still out of commission, which means business is also shut down for the time being. We’ll be posting updates here and doing what we can via email, but phones are out and internet access is really limited. If you happen to be a customer of Primal in addition to being a reader of MDA, thanks for your patience. The most important thing, of course, is that everyone is safe.

Quick check in (not easy!). Thanks all, your support is really appreciated. Tomorrow looks like we’re out, too. I just haven’t seen anything like this in years. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for everyone to stay safe in SoCal.

Glad to hear you guys are safe. I couldn’t believe the pictures I saw in the papers. I didn’t even know this was going on until your post yesterday, and then I went outside and looked at the headlines of the papers in the news bins and saw the pictures.

I hope you and all of your family and friends make it out all right.

I’m down here in San Diego, I thought I was going to make it but I was evacuated from my home on Tuesday. I have been able to return home as of Wednesday, of course we aren’t out of the woods yet here in San Diego, so we have to continue to be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice. I feel for those who lost homes in 2003 and are going through this again, I can’t believe we are experiencing this just 4 years later, and it’s worse this time. God bless those brave firefighters out there.
