Meet Mark

Let me introduce myself. My name is Mark Sisson. I’m 63 years young. I live and work in Malibu, California. In a past life I was a professional marathoner and triathlete. Now my life goal is to help 100 million people get healthy. I started this blog in 2006 to empower people to take full responsibility for their own health and enjoyment of life by investigating, discussing, and critically rethinking everything we’ve assumed to be true about health and wellness...

I so want to go to the next PrimalCon. It looks like a fun summer camp, except for adults and with good food.

I have said it numerous times…

But, I am going to the next Primal Con. I do not care where it is, how much it costs, and where I stand financially…

I will figure out a way to go!

The more photos I see, the more I want to go. Show us some videos!

I had to leave early, but this weekend was one of the best weekends of my life! It was an incredible weekend with absolutely wonderful leaders (thanks to Mark and crew!) and wonderful participants. Everyone was so welcoming, whatever your age or fitness level, and it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself….
Grok on everyone!!

Timothy

You said it, Janine. This weekend was a profoundly moving experience and well worth the investment. I sprint faster, lift stronger, stand straighter, and think more deeply. But all that is nothing compared with the greatest benefit of all: meeting some of the kindest, most inspiring and interesting people I have ever known. I miss all of you to bits. Next year seems very far away, but Mark could hold the conference on Mars and I would find a way to get there. When 2011 rolls around, I hope to see all my friends from this year and meet many… Read more »

Congrats to those who were able to go. I’m anxious to learn in the coming days the follow-up that I’m sure we’ll enjoy and be a part of. At least that’s what I’m guessing.

For those who went – you owe us some major catch up once you’ve gotten back home!

Looks like a lot of fun, but I’m glad I ended up going. Would have been the most out-of-shape one there. Maybe Mark could have a PrimalFattyCon I could attend.

Hey, I was the fattest person there and still had a great time!! It was motivation for me and I did it to kick start my primal lifestyle 🙂

“1:15 pm: Saying goodbyes and taking last minute photos together. See you at the next PrimalCon!”

Guess what this means?!?!?!?!!?

There is going to be another PrimalCon!!!!!

Stick by your word and make it happen…. I have an amazing feeling there will be one in 2011 on the east coast 🙂

Anyone else feel the same way?

Kat
6 years 4 months ago

I don’t really want it to be on the East Coast, I need an excuse to get out and visit the West Coast!

Looks like a very successful first PrimalCon. Congrats Mark and Worker Bees!

Interesting to see that Mark is pretty lean. After four months eating Primal, my husband and I have become quite lean. It’s seems hard to get fat eating this way, at least for us. And we eat plenty.

Congrats to everyone who attended! Looks like you had a great time. Definitely the pictures inspire me to continue “grokking” :-). I’m enjoying my steak salad that much more.

Looking forward to hearing stories from the gathering! And I vote for an east coast con as well!

So fun! like camp only with better food, activities and cabins that don’t smell like pee.

There were so many wonderful people there. It was so nice to be in a community of like minded people. This is one of the biggest lessons I took from the weekend. Foster community, because it makes all the difference.

Thank you to Mark, Brad, and all of the worker bees who made this such an amazing experience! You guys were truly awesome, went the extra mile and it showed!

Right on, Chris. A huge thanks to Mark, Brad, and the team of worker bees who made PrimalCon happen!

@Dan – but I want PrimalCon to be close enough that I get to skateboard to it next year ; )

I think I’m going to have to keep these couple of pages of photos permanently bookmarked for inspiration. Whenever I look at each one it brings back fun memories, inspiration, excitement, words of wisdom, tips and a recommitment to every aspect of the primal life. I feel very lucky to have gone and lucky to have met everyone this weekend! I can’t wait for next year!

I think it would be best to have an outdoor PrimalCon and I will wait! It just makes sense to make it an outdoor experience. Camping groups (Airstream, Casita, etc) reserve entire sections of state park campgrounds on a regular basis so why not us? There are some lovely state parks on or a breif walk from the beach, as well. Bandon, OR has a wonderful park and I have also enjoyed one beach park in CA just north of Zuma…(also experienced an earthquake in th middle of night, sleeping in my tent, on the ground….an amazing experience). Did Grok… Read more »
