Sonagi & Dave, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I am tuned into this blog and a few others every single day to keep my motivation and continue to learn new things. What I learn sticks in my mind a lot longer when I hear it over and over, and each time I see something it reminds me to stay focused.

Didn't mean to come off as someone who didn't need the reminder, I'm just prone to being snarky & sarcastic a lot. If I ever come across as flippant, just imagine me with a big smile & a joking tone. I'm a very positive & happy individual, most people respond well to my snarkiness in person, but I forget that it doesn't translate into print very well.

So please, keep the reminders coming! Dave, I know what you mean about the health blogs taking over. I used to read lots of blogs, most of them celebrity trash. I don't even care about celebrities, just managed to get drawn into it somehow. I lost my links one day, and decided to only re-favorite the health blogs so I wouldn't waste time elsewhere. I still waste time reading online, but at least it's something designed to help me, and sure enough it has.

I think I know what’s good or bad for me, but I still read this blog and other health and nutrition sources to keep myself inspired, much like a believer may read scripture.

Amen. My Google home page used to be dominated by sports. Now I have to scroll down past several RSS feeds on health related blogs to get to them. I'm looking for some information--but also a heavy dose of inspiration. By the way, I'm closing in on a milestone. I'm only seven pounds away from confirming that my digital scale is capable of producing the number "1" in the hundreds place! :-)

<i>I just love all these studies that continue to point out the obvious.</i>

I hear ya, but sometimes the obvious needs to be repeated. I liked the simplicity of the message, just four habits yields a dramatic increase in longevity. 14 years is a long time. I think I know what's good or bad for me, but I still read this blog and other health and nutrition sources to keep myself inspired, much like a believer may read scripture.

I just love all these studies that continue to point out the obvious. "Recent research shows that breathing air & drinking water may increase lifespan by decades!"

Sorry for the snark, I do appreciate the article because at least someone out there is fighting the good fight. Really though, don't they think everyone already knows that not smoking & drinking, eating well, and exercising are the basic rules for living longer? Everyday we hear "Diets & pills don't work, eat right & exercise!" and "Drinking & smoking are bad!" There can't possibly be anyone left that doesn't know these things. Or maybe I just read too many health blogs... ;)

That's one thing America has got over Europe. Everyone smokes in Europe! L.A. may be smogged up from too much emissions, but at least I can walk into a bar without worrying about reducing my life span from second hand smoke. And veggies, yeah, those are good too.

I quite smoking cigarettes about 2 years ago and I have never felt better. I no longer experience tightness in my chest and I no longer wake up with the cigarette smell.
