Introducing The Primal Blueprint 21-Day Total Body Transformation

UPDATE: The special offer outlined in this blog post has come to an end. Many thanks to everyone that participated in this book launch offer. Grok on!

21Day 3D BookcoverB 1

After The Primal Blueprint was released in 2009 I started receiving recurring back-handed compliments along the lines of, “Wow – really comprehensive work Mark, great detail and excellent research. But…what exactly do I do now? The Primal Blueprint 21-Day Total Body Transformation is the answer to that question. It’s a practical, action-oriented guide for how to eat, exercise and live Primally – a step-by-step, “cut to the chase” resource to make a smooth and quick transition into a Primal lifestyle. In it I tell you exactly what to do every day for 21 days to take control of your health for the rest of your life.

I believe that this is the book that is going to take the Primal movement mainstream, and we in the Primal community must do everything possible to land this baby on the New York Times best-seller list as soon as the book hits the street (now!). I need your help to do that, so I’m offering some fantastic free gifts (including free books! see the 8 book offer below) for this urgent promotion that expires on Monday, October 24, 12 pm PST.

What’s This New Book About?

The 21-Day Total Body Transformation is all about making Primal living easy – distilling the philosophy of the Primal Blueprint (detailed in the 2009 hardcover volume) into 8 Key Concepts, 5 Action Items, and a lively 21-Day Challenge of daily endeavors in the areas of Diet, Exercise, and Lifestyle – with corresponding journal exercises.

Friends and members of the MarksDailyApple.com community have asked for an easy, practical, and visual book on how to get Primal quickly. Well, if you can spare an hour a day for just 21 days, I guarantee that you will reprogram your genes and transform your life with this guidebook.

Who’s It For? What’s in It?

There’s something in this for everyone. If you’re a Primal enthusiast, you will enjoy the extensive commentary that picks up where the book, the blog, and my Primal seminars left off. Yes, this is a must read and you won’t be sorry, even if it reviews some of your existing knowledge base. Here I detail how to transition from a sugar burner to a fat-burning beast, reprogramming your genes to reject a carbohydrate-based metabolism in favor of burning stored body fat – and manufacturing glucose and ketones on demand to stabilize blood sugar and hormone function.

I clarify and expand certain themes that have been covered in passing in other publications, such as the integral role of complementary lifestyle practices (excess artificial light and digital stimulation compromising weight loss efforts, anyone?), and covering the spectrum of choices from best to worst in each Primal food category in more detail than ever before. We’ll dig into some fun new stuff like my favorite Primal tagline: Live Long, Drop Dead! (you know, healthy and fit till the very end, like hunter-gatherers), explore further why grains (and legumes for that matter) are bad and fat is good, and expand on exercise themes such as adding more daily movement to dial-in a Primal exercise program regardless of your fitness level.

If you are new to the Primal scene, this book is one-stop shopping for all you need to know to enjoy the most life-altering benefits of living Primally within 21 days. If you are currently Primal-aligned and wish that somehow, some way, you could bestow the “secret” onto family or friends who are too reluctant or too busy, this book should definitely do the trick. It’s beautifully designed and illustrated and packed with over 100 color photos and concise section summaries – a page-turner even for the most attention- challenged among us in the digital age.

Inside the 192 pages you’ll find:

21day postAD
  • Custom photos and detailed descriptions of foods to toss and Primal foods to enjoy.
  • Tips for shopping (locally and online), and dining out Primally – including the best fast food options and how to Primal-tweak restaurant menus.
  • Easy go-to breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes. You don’t have to be a gourmet to eat Primally! You can do very well even if you have almost no time for meal prep.
  • Workout descriptions and visual sequences for anyone – even sedentary folks – to get started with Primal Blueprint Fitness.
  • Concise summaries of the Key Concepts so you can fully understand how and why to reprogram your genes in the direction of health, effortless weight management, and maximum longevity.
  • An action-packed 21-Day Challenge, with extensive daily journal exercises that will provide long-term reference material.

You want comments? We got comments:

Imagine you’re George Clooney. Take a moment to admire your grooming and wit. Okay, now imagine someone walks up to you and asks, “What’s your name?” You say, “I’m George Clooney.” Or maybe you say, “I’m the Clooninator!” You don’t say “I’m George of George Clooney Sells Movies Blog” and you certainly don’t say, “I’m Clooney Weight Loss Plan”. So while spam is technically meat, it ain’t anywhere near Primal. Please nickname yourself something your friends would call you.

  1. Mark, let’s help you hit that New York Times best-seller list! I’m ordering my copy now and spreading the word.

  6. As a Canadian, I have been following Mark’s Daily Apple faithfully for a few months after having gone Primal this past summer. Much to my dismay, as it was for your recent Challenges, you limit participation to within the US, even when you have world wide following. I imagine this is for legal reasons, but it is frustrating nonetheless. In this particular case, can I participate if I order from Amazon.com, even if delivery is abraod, or does delivery have to be to a US address? Thanks.

Lester wrote on October 18th, 2011

  8. Mark – the small print – not outside US!

Loads of us used .com from Europe last time to get you to the top, can you not include us at least for the online accessible content if we use the .com to order … I don’t mind paying the international shipping and waiting a few extra days to get you heading up the lists!

Kelda wrote on October 18th, 2011
    • Kelda, Greg, Lester, OK executive decision on the fly here. The 1-2 and 3-7 book offers with electronic content are open to anyone around the world who orders from the .com. Sorry about that. We were thinking more about the onerous costs of shipping free books around the world on the 8+ offer.

Mark Sisson wrote on October 18th, 2011
      • Thanks. We’ll see what we can do to put you on the Globe&Mail’s book list in Canada.

Greg wrote on October 18th, 2011
      • Thank you, I will go order from .com then :-) and I know just who I’m sending them to when they do arrive!

I appreciate the costs of sending freebies overseas isn’t supportable but the online accessible stuff should be no problemo!

Thanks again and fingers crossed we get you in the numero uno spot!

Kelda wrote on October 18th, 2011
  9. The Worker Bees are doing an outstanding job…I received my email with freebies within seconds of sending my receipt! Can’t wait to get my copy! Will probably order more for Christmas gifts.

Allison wrote on October 18th, 2011
  10. Had I more money and wanted to create enemies this Christmas, I probably would have ordered 20+ books. Alas, none too many of my nearest and dearest appreciate my sage nutritional/wellness advice, so I will be selfish and just get one for myself… for now…! Looking forward to it. Grok on!

Jay Ogg wrote on October 18th, 2011
  11. Just wanted to agree with the above comments from us non-US people, I’m all for helping you hit the best sellers list, so if I order the book from the US site and have it shipped to my non-US address can I get the freebies?

AlexAyesha wrote on October 18th, 2011
    • Yep. See my comment above regarding the 1-2 and 3-7 book offer for non-USers.

  25. seriously? Kindle books don’t count toward the best seller lists?? That… makes me wonder how they can continue to say that when kindle books outsell regular paper books on amazon these days… :( I don’t want any more physical books in my house, I <3 my kindle. I'll have to see if there's anyone I can buy one for as a gift or something…

jenna wrote on October 18th, 2011

      • Ok, I’m bummed too. I’m excited about your book and I bought my Kindle version and I’m happy about it, but really, not even some partial goodies for us ebook folk? Feels like it should count for something. I’m a big fan and purchased the original, plus the cookbook…I am just no longer buying physical books anyhow so I can have all my reference in one place, easy to carry.

  28. Mark,

Does the book help someone start the day they get the book?

Many books have be at least mostly read before you know how to get going. Is there a “quick start” section that lets them get going NOW and then continue reading?

    Thanks,

Roland wrote on October 18th, 2011

  37. Just a heads up for Kindle owners: The last section of this book is workbook/logbook/journal. It was created for you to write down and track your progress for the full 21 days. The Kindle version of the book will contain a URL and password that directs you to a webpage where you can download a PDF of these pages, so you can print them out. So whether you purchase a physical version or the digital version it will require some paper to participate in the 21-Day challenge as my team and I designed it.

Mark Sisson wrote on October 18th, 2011
    • NOW you tell me! lool… I just bought the book… well, I’ll keep the book but hopefully next time… either way, I’m looking forward to doing the 21 day challenge. I’ve not yet converted from low carb to paleo/primal and I’m really to move forward.

Penny wrote on October 18th, 2011
  38. Hi Mark,

Does the kindle version of the book help you to the top of NYT list? I had heard that they only counted the paper books. I’d rather purchase the kindle version, but if the paper version helps, I will do that instead.

    Thanks!
