At the grocery store today, I noticed a product called Sunkist Fun Fruits, colorful individual serving packages of sliced apples, sliced oranges, and red grapes. Environmentally and financially, it makes more sense to wash and slice your own fruit and put it in a cute re-usable container, but the same families and school districts who buy those frozen Uncrustables might be willing to put fruit in their children's lunchbox or on lunch trays if it were ready to eat. When you think about it, a lot of junk food and fast food doesn't actually taste good. It's the packaging and convenience that get people to eat it.
