Grokfeast in San Jose, California

Posted By Mark Sisson On October 6, 2010 @ 1:00 pm In Health,Reader-Created Content | 32 Comments

On September 8th I asked my readers to host picnics and to send me the results. The following is one of 27 amazing submissions, the best of which will win an entire cow [7], courtesy of US Wellness [8]. Vote for your favorite on October 8.

‘Twas the night of the Grokfeast, when all through the ‘hood
was a dozen or so Grok-wannabes hunting for food;
Their tummies were hungry and fridges were so bare, they foraged
together, because they care;
With Audra stoking the fire, and Frank roasting the meat, Cherry and
Robin busily cutting the veggies to eat;
Lindsay and Eden carefully weighing and measuring to ensure every
Grokee would get their fill,
As Joe watched the little ones, so Becca could bag the many meals;
After slaving away over hot, open fires, well over four and one-half hours,
though time quickly flew, enjoying each others’ company,
Then what to their wondering eyes could it be,
A week’s worth of primal food for each Grok family,
No, not just two or three small little snacks, but twenty-one delicious
cavemen dishes to develop a healthy heart and make strong backs.
As the clan separated to go their own ways, they knew in their tummies
and hearts it was a well-spent day;
Building good eating habits and maintaining their health, it’s teaching by
example that is much more than wealth!
