I want to cook the Italian Sausage Meatball recipe that was featured a week or so ago in Mark's blog, but I have no idea what to serve with it. I immediately think "pasta" but obviously, that's out. :)

These are non-primal folks I'm cooking for, but I still don't want to serve any grain products.

    What do you think?

  2. Spaghetti squash is AWESOME for that sort of thing. yummm.

Or maybe mashed cauliflower with butter and cream cheese mixed in...

    Or brussels sprouts with butter?

    Or any number of things.

I was also going to suggest cabbage, cooked sauteed with bacon, onions, garlic and some red bell pepper!

Also, you could serve it with a butternut squash side dish. (I like to sautee the butternut squash cubes with chilies, garlic, onion and some then toss with toasted pecans!)

Oh man everyone, thank you! You've given me some great ideas! So far I like the cabbage sauteed with garlic, onion, and red pepper the best. :) I could saute those things in the leftover bacon grease/drippings from the meatballs while keeping the meatballs warm in the oven.

    :)
