Primal VS Marathon

I started going on a primal diet 3 weeks ago. Not 100% primal cuz I've had 3 mornings of cereal and 2 slices of cake since then. Technically, before the change, I will had rice/noodles every lunch and dinner.
I have been training to complete a marathon in december prior to the change of diet. I did not stop my training of long distance runs.
I have been feeling easily lethargic for the past week and have been needing a lot of sleep. Is this normal inevitable phase for everyone going through this change of diet?
Is it because I have not stopped my runs? If that's the reason, should i start eating non-primal again if I want to continue my runs so that i could complete the marathon? Is there a way that I could carry on my training and still be on the primal diet?

Ther is always a transition phase when shifting to fat based diets. some will explain it as carb-abstinence. It will pass anyway.
Good luck

thats normal, just make sure you're getting plenty of vegetables and fruit, and as many as possible of those should be raw.

Thanks guys!
That's reassuring. I was getting worried...

It'll pass quicker if you also lay off the cereal and cakes! ;)

How's your training going?
I dabbled in primal the month before my marathon in may (stupid, rule #1 don't change anything) and had the same problems with being sluggish.Have you adapted to the diet yet?
Since the marathon, I've kicked chronic cardio, but still dream of running for hours on end like I used to.Posted 6 months ago # -
It took me about a month before I got used to it. I remember feeling sluggish and tired by the end of weight sessions. I did my weights yesterday and hadn't eaten anything all day except a handful of almonds. I felt fine, and actually PRed on the bench press.
I just didn't feel like eating much that day. It's really nice not feeling like a slave to food anymore, or having to plan around eating.
