How Primal are you: I would say about 85%. More most days, less on a select few (love that fruit).

Do you consume dairy: ...yes. But I have just altered my share to be less milk and more cream, so overall less dairy. Sigh.

Do you drink coffee or tea: I cup of each per day, with stevia and cream.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Honestly, looks, energy and health. I ate really healthy before, but I knew I could do better (ie no grains). Im not very overweight but I have a few to lose, and I do feel A LOT better now with no grains.

Favorite exercise: Playing. Hiking, biking and garden/housework. And dancing, haha.

Favorite Primal food: All the veggies! I am eating lower protein right now b/c all I do is study (Ill up it when Im working out for real) but I eat my veg primarily raw, so I get creative! Its fun and yummy.

Best part about being Primal: Feeling great, [eventually] looking good and having energy. Everything tastes sweeter not that I dont eat sweets, so a little goes a LONG way now. Awesome!

Worst part about being Primal: NO SCONES! No grainy, rustic bread, no more homemade pastas, no steel cut oats, no cookie dough. Its alright though, I still cheat a little bit every few weeks so I dont go nuts!

Worst part about being Primal: At times it's hard when you go to someone's house that has garbage for food and they want you to partake in it with them.
Here in town we don't have a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods so I go up to Ann Arbor Michigan once a month for some shopping.

How Primal are you: 70% or so...

Do you consume dairy: yep, mainly full-fat unsweetened Greek yogurt, occasional splashes of whole milk in my coffee.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Yes, two cups of coffee each morning.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Reading the Crossfit nutrition forums and Good Calories, Bad Calories last year.

    Favorite exercise: http://www.crossfit603.com

    Favorite Primal food: MEAT!

Best part about being Primal: See above.

Worst part about being Primal: I have major ice cream and craft beer weaknesses.

More about me: Started eating mostly Primal late last summer (2008), and noted that when I was super-strict about it, weight melted away like nothing (7 pounds in one week), and when I was slack I would at least maintain and not gain back. I liked the idea of a generalized approach to life rather than a diet plan, too. And I like bucking CW!

How Primal are you: currently 70-75% due to travel/job, I have a goal to be 90-95% when I can.
Do you consume dairy: Yes, yogurt, a little cheese and occasionally milk in a latte.
Do you drink coffee or tea: Tea, almost daily. Coffee, once or twice a month.
Motivator for switching to Primal: Desire to be healthier, fitter and happier. It just makes sense to me.
Favorite exercise: Long, slow distance running and row machine.
Favorite Primal food: Eggs, roast turkey and blueberries.
Best part about being Primal: Knowing that I am working with my body not against it. Also, the results I have already been enjoying from just a 70% primal diet for the past several years. I had given up “white” carbs about three years ago (rice, pasta, white bread, potatoes). I still continued to have brown rice, whole grain bread and pasta until about six months I gave it all up. I still have dairy, but not every day. I have lost 25 pounds in the past six months from exercise and healthy (almost) primal diet.
Worst part about being Primal: Wanting to share primal lifestyle and benefits with family and close friends and meeting resistance. Luckily the more they see me and hear about my successes, they are coming around.

    How Primal are you: Interested/Beginner

Do you consume dairy: Little to none

Do you drink coffee or tea: Yes. 2 cups tea in the morning, or 1 cup tea/1 cup coffee.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Intriguing way of looking at things. Read Mark's interview in the "Rivendell Reader" and thought, "Now there's a great idea. That is something that I could handle, NOT being on a plan or a regimented schedule." It just made sense. Biggest motivator is that I only have 1 goal: lose weight ... that's it. I'll have other goals as I move along, but for now I'll stick with only 1. Life is busy enough with work and family.

Favorite exercise: Riding a bicycle - avid commuter / weekend rider.

Favorite Primal food: I LOVE tasty chickens!
Best part about being Primal: Don't know yet
Worst part about being Primal: We'll see

How Primal are you: Brand new - but have Mark's book!

Do you consume dairy: not since I got the book.

Do you drink coffee or tea: neither

Motivator for switching to Primal: I like the thought of eating cleanly, not simply "low-fat". I also like the idea of eating "the way God intended" if you know what I mean.

Favorite exercise: Deadlift w/ barbell. But, as I said, I'm still new to the Primal lifestyle. I'm sure my favorite exercise will change...

Favorite Primal food: Tuna. Damn near raw. Steak being a close second. Cooked the same.

Best part about being Primal: In my first week I've dropped 7 pounds -- probably by drinking 100+ oz of water daily and dropping the carbs. And beer. And definitely from dropping the 1/2 gallon of milk I'd often drink in a day.

Worst part about being Primal: Definitely dropping the beer. And the Diet Cokes. But know that this will do my body (and mind) a boatload of good...

How Primal are you: about 95%, depends on how much money I have each month - good meat is expensive!

Do you consume dairy: yes, full fat, plain yogurt and a little cheese. I doubt I will ever stop eating yogurt, it does wonders for me... I feel as though this is a much more "primal" way to get good bacteria than popping expensive pro-biotic pills every day.

Do you drink coffee or tea: i go through phases with tea, but only the green variety and love a properly brewed, hand rolled green sencha with a sprig of mint... mmmhmmm.

Motivator for switching to Primal: this is an interesting story, a 3-fold motivation. I have struggled with topical yeast infections for about 4 years now, and in February 2009, I got completely fed up with it all. Doctors kept prescribing this and that cream or pill and nothing seemed to work. So, as I should have done in the first place, I went online for answers and discovered the murky universe of "candida" and the millions of candida cleanse diets that health bloggers and internet docs promote. I tried one of these cleanses (basically you dont eat anything with carbs (not even fruit!) while popping an incredible list of anti-fungal supplements every day) for a month, religiously. By the end of those 30 days, the visible signs of the yeast infection had not diminished at all. BUT, I had lost 10 lbs (completely unnecessary, but interesting), felt more mentally aware than I could remember, and was building lean muscle like crazy having picked up yoga and biking during that time to keep my mind off of sugar. Another thing I noticed is that my blood sugar stopped freaking out. I had been a vegetarian (self-induced, I was a weird child) since I was 9 years old, struggling in the last four years with extreme mood swings, headaches, tiredness, etc... due to a reliance on carbohydrates (yay college!) and simple sugars to get me through the day. After a month (albeit still vegetarian, with lots of fish/eggs) of this candida cleanse, I was starting to notice how cutting carbs out of the picture afffected my hypoglycemia tendancies. The mental boost of this high-fat, high-protein diet was just as intoxicating for me as the physical, and like everything I get excited about, I set about learning everything I could about why I was feeling so good. This lead me on a random google search to The Daily Apple and, well, the rest is history....

Favorite exercise: 1. yoga. 2. a monkey circuit around the neighborhood park. I have taken to after-work, usually dusk/dark workouts on the jungle gym there and LOVE it. I have developed some serious callouses and can whip my body around, gorilla-style, like nobody's business!

Favorite Primal food: hm, well as a first time meat-eater, Id have to say BACON! I almost passed out when I ate this for the first time - so good. Also, I eat a ton of avocados and am partial to cajun spiced chicken legs.

Best part about being Primal: feeling great about what I eat, how I look, and how I live.

Worst part about being Primal: the big explanation - aka the social aspect. It is really hard for people to listen to me explain this lifestyle without their eyes glazing over and the inevitable responses - "That's just Atkins with a different name." "You dont need to lose weight!" or the best, "Oh right, you got this off the internet?" Just have to remind myself that it doesnt matter if they care about this or not. Ill talk about being primal till your ear falls off, but in the end, its my life!! :)

How Primal are you: Just starting to get there...I've been 100% for a week now (with exception of red wine tonight!)

Do you consume dairy: Yes, although I am striving to cut down...mostly from full fat, natural cheese and greek yogurt...the yogurt is staying though!

Do you drink coffee or tea: I have about 2 cups of coffee with splenda per day

Motivator for switching to Primal: Overall better health and easier weight management...starting to notice how bad 'healthy' carbs like whole grains make me feel, and how hungry I am after eating them!

    Favorite exercise: Any outdoor sport

    Favorite Primal food: Avocados

Best part about being Primal: So far, the ease of nutrition choices

Age (If you want): decidedly mid-30s
    How Primal are you: 60-80%
Do you consume dairy: yogurt, half & half
Do you drink coffee or tea: YES
Motivator for switching to Primal: get leaner (yeah, its superficial but I am an athlete and that's my lame excuse)

Worst part about being Primal: ice cream is so damn tasty, and no sushi rice

I've been Primal now for almost two weeks. I have to say, I thought I would have a harder time with it. Especially giving up sugar. I was a huge sugar addict.

    Your location: Laurel, MD

    Age (If you want): 38

How Primal are you: Cut all grains and all sugar. Still have some non-primal items like Linguica.

Do you consume dairy: Yes. Cream for my coffee and I love cheese.

Do you drink coffee or tea: I can't give up my coffee. I completely stopped caffeine a few years ago, but I couldn't stand being a "quitter". :)

Motivator for switching to Primal: I don't want to be one of the broken down old men that can only recall the good old days.

Favorite exercise: Put something heavy on my back and let me walk/run.

Favorite Primal food: Meat, followed in a close second by meat.

Best part about being Primal: Feel great. I don't have the "normal" slump after my lunch. Plus, my wife thinks I look good.

How Primal are you: about 65 to 70%, working towards higher
Do you consume dairy: only in moments of weakness, usually stick with goat cheese
Do you drink coffee or tea: if I drink either one at all, it is unsweetened green tea
Motivator for switching to Primal: I stumbled upon the daily apple originally, then got to reading... that was really all it took for me to give it a week trial run... and I haven't turned back.
Favorite exercise: I would have to say walking. Other things are fun and all, but this allows some nice solitude for de-stressing on a nice trail (or for company if I'm in the mood)
Favorite Primal food: Kabobs, hands down :) nothing quite like cooking meat and veggies over a fire
Best part about being Primal: The energy, weight loss, size loss, just 'feeling' better, the foods, my sense of taste becoming stronger... pretty much everything.
Worst part about being Primal: the lack of convenient "on the fly" food sources in our society.... that and having to spend 30 minutes explaining the whole thing and re-establish the faith in my sanity (WHAT?! NO BREAD!!!?) to everyone that says "WOW! you lost a lot of weight, how did you do it?"

Anyone interested in getting together locally (or even semi-locally), I'm game for it! It would be nice to be around some like minded people for once.

I like seeing where people come from in the world who are also primal :)

    Your location:Mediterranean France

    Age (If you want): 45

    How Primal are you:around 80-90%

Do you consume dairy:yes raw milk, kefir and homemade yogurt

Do you drink coffee or tea:coffee and herbal teas

Motivator for switching to Primal: health and leaness but seemed like the natural next step in my wholeness journey

Favorite exercise: hiking and squatting (just got my squat up to 3 x 100kg at a weight of 57kg)

    Favorite Primal food:eggs

Best part about being Primal: I look and feel better than most of my friends ten years younger than me :)also it has converted me from being an excessive runner ;)

Worst part about being Primal: I do miss bread and pasta :( but the hardest thing is not having anyone around that understands this choice.
