Microwaved crab sparks

Basically I put frozen crab in microwave and it started instantly sparking. Could this be because of high mercury contents or something else?

Ha ha ha ha!
Oh, lordy! I laughed hard because it seems that some food or containers inexplicably spark in the micro.
Weird science!
Don't be so paranoid. Enjoy your crab.

Yes, some food and containers can create sparks if they have conducting materials. The only explanation i can come up is a high mercury content in the crab.
I surely will enjoy my crab but I would like to hear the explanation behind this.

Dang, I thought this was going to be a recipe for "crab sparks". I couldn't wait to find out what they were! Oops...

I once set my microwave on fire reheating fried clams, but I think that was a whole different dealio.

Grapes also spark in the microwave and it has nothing to do with mercury! That's actually a myth that circulates around the internet ever so often.
Check this out about grapes sparking:

Oh ya, and don't try this at home kids, unless you want to buy a new microwave! lol

Best sparking I ever got from a microwave was when I 'waved a CD just to make a point to my radio station's staff.
If you trust the FDA, crab has some of the lowest level of mercury of any sea creatures.

I've had frozen broccoli spark in the microwave, to the point of little burn marks! I figured it was the ice crystals. Maybe this explains it?:
