IF--help!!!

Hi-I am new here, likely silimar question posted before...
today I forgot my lunch and wallet! so thought great-this will be my first IF.
I had a banana and PB for beakfast at 6am( I was going to work out ) and now no food til dinner around 730-which is chicken parm (dont worry! not breaded, and just a sprinking of cheese-basically its chicken, tomato sauce, zuchini, onions, garlic) and right now I am very very hungry...and there is a lot of candy around here...
access to free tea, coffee, water, sugar free hot choclatefor those that IF-how do you get through the hard parts?
I feel so guilty feeling miserable about this when so many have to 'eat' this way and not their choice...its just one lousy meal, but I am not feeling great...
thank you for your help

Are you hungry often when not IFing? How much fat and protein are you normally eating? Did you eat last night? When fat % is high, I'm not hungry, when it drops lower I get hungry.
I've only been doing Primal about month so others may have more helpful advice.

IFing without having previously eaten a high-fat meal is difficult, especially if it's your first time. The old standby breakfast of bacon and eggs cooked in bacon fat always tides me over until dinner.
The best thing you can do is drink lots of water and try to find some way to keep your mind and body occupied.

Do you have access to raw or dry-roasted nuts or butter (in your cafeteria)? That should tide you over till dinner. If you are new to IF, try skipping b/f and slowly proceed to push back your lunch time. Before you realize, you won't need food until dinner time.

I notice that your breakfast was largely carbohydrate (bananas are notorious for that). Like the others have said, have bacon and eggs for breakfast and then IF. Don't eat something carby and expect not to get hungry; it's almost inevitable that you'll get hungry if you do.

Banana and PB for breakfast is pretty high on the carbs and I would be starving all day with that mixture. Load up on water and herbal tea. Get in the habit of eating fatty breakfasts in case this happens again. Otherwise I guess you'll just have to suck it up for today.

I absolutely agree with others - having such a high carb brekkie is undoubtedly going to make you really hungry. Whilst I also agree that the bacon and eggs option is brilliant, I suspect you might not have time to do that before work? In which case, IFing your breakfast is probably easier than IFing lunch. I know that was my first choice when embarking on IF and it was fine.
If you don't have time to prepare breakfast in the morning, how about some hard boiled eggs? Plenty of protein to fill you up!
And don't feel bad. We all understand.

thanks! yes I realised the banana/PB and working out not ideal, but I did not realise Id be doing this. Well its almost 3 and yes I am hungry but trying to 'embrace' it. In the future I will have higher fat/protein breakfast. I often make a crustless type quiche with eggs, a little cheese, and some onions, pepper, etc and that keeps me saited a long time.
So-I am sucking it up for today and will paln better next time!Posted 3 weeks ago #
