Came with my order of Magnesium/Calcium/Vitamin D supplements. As soon as I opened the box I am like "I didn't order this...???" Well there it was... I don't think it's a freebie, because this thing is almost 40 bucks. It must have slipped in there by mistake. I guess someone else isn't getting what they ordered!

Anyways, it's pretty cool - all natural ingredients. Should I take it just for the hell of it? I know it can definitely benefit my mom also.

Why don't you just google it?

What you do is contact the vendor and tell them of their mistake.

They may say to keep it, or they may provide free shipping back.

    It's not yours.

My naturopath suggested it to me a few months ago for joint pain. I don't think it has made any difference at all, except in the wallet area. However, my pain is probably autoimmune in origin, and most people who like it are using it for degenerative joint conditions.

On the bright side, going cold turkey on sugar and grains 2 weeks ago has reduced my joint pain to the point that I rarely notice it. Yay!

OTB, return it? You would actually do that...?

At least give them the opportunity to decide whether they need it back or not. They may very well tell you to keep it, but as you said, that stuff is expensive. They may not be able to afford to let it be a freebie.

Exactly, Pikaia. It's unethical to keep it without notifying the company.

Raphael, do you keep extra change when it's given back to you by mistake?

They can't afford it? They're a business for God's sake. And it's not that expensive - only 40 dollars. That's hardly the most expensive thing on that website.

Geez, everyone is against me on this. It's not everyday something 'free' comes by, you know?

Okay I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Just don't be so quick to judge me like that.

Okay I'll say it...Nothing in life is free. You may not have paid for it but someone did or will! There's no such thing as a free lunch either.

Free samples at Costco may be the closest thing to something actually being free.

Having owned and operated my own business I gotta agree. I know it seems like a great deal to get something for free, but it's still hard on the business.

Just as an example...let's say someone in shipping is messing up several shipments this way. Your one is a $40 loss to the biz, but if there's a problem in shipping the overal loss could be much more & really add up over time. I'd absolutely *love* someone who called me back about a mistake like that (and would probably even send them a little gift...just me). It could help to uncover other problems in the biz, personel issues etc. Just an example...everything in life has the potential to be linked.

Good karma will come back to you for calling them :)

You should tell them, or you incur bad karma, dude.

I've accidentally gotten extra merchandise in the mail three different times; I notified them, and all three told me to keep the extra merchandise.

I was thanked profusely, got free stuff, AND felt good about myself.

Raphael, I don't think anyone meant to make you feel badly, but it's hard to give advice to someone about whether they should use a product when it seems like you should check with the company before using the product in the first place.

Yeah, thanks guys. I just emailed them. If they say I can keep it, I'll still feel bad...
