How many eggs do you eat per day?

I've been cooking a lot of eggs and that has been a concern to my husband. He likes them and eats them, but then says he's going to give up "my style of eating" (he's not yet primal, but since I'm the cook, I try to make it as low-carb as possible) after a few days. I just hope he doesn't. Between the 2 of us, we eat about 3 dozen eggs per week. My highest has been 6 in a day. Just out of curiosity and for fun, how many do you typically eat and what has been the highest in a day?

I ate 7 yesterday.

And I probably go through 2 dozen per week just by myself.

I usually eat 3 for breakfast but there have been numerous occasions where I ate 6-7 a day as well. Felt great:)

I eat around 3 eggs daily, on average. My highest in one day was 8; 4 in the a.m., and 4 in the p.m.

Gosh, I'm seriously craving eggs now. I have some boiled eggs at home. I'll fry some onion in butter, and add sliced eggs, S&P....yummy!

I eat 4 eggs for breakfast every morning (sunny side up, soft yolk) and bring 2 hard boiled eggs to work to snack on. Some days I eat both, some days only 1. The eggs are from free range chickens. It's kind of cool eating eggs that have green shells as well as brown, are inconsistent sizes, and sometimes have bumpy shells. Definitely not the mass produced, homogenous industrial eggs the major grocery stores sell.

Average 5 a day.

4. Always 4. Don't know why.

anywhere from 2-12,... but i'd say it averages around 4.

At least 2, sometimes 4-6 depending on what I cook for dinner. (Lots of souffles, quiche, etc and sauces that are thickened with yolk, custards etc.)

anywhere from 4-12. I have gone weeks just eating 12 eggs cooked in butter, coconut oil and bacon fat each day.

^ Only spent $20 on groceries that week for free range eggs & nitrate free bacon!

Usually 2 every morning, sometimes an eggy dish for dinner also.

billman89, did you see weight-loss during your eggs-only period? I've been at the same weight (+/- 3 lbs) for almost 3 months now. But I also eat a lot of veggies and some fruit.

At least 2, from my own chickens. :) Sometimes up to 4.

We easily go through about 5 dozen a week between 4 of us. That's probably a low estimate as well.

I would say I eat anywhere between 3 and 6 a day. I can't help it. They're so good!

Only 2 for breakfast. I eat meat for the rest of the day to satisfy my protein needs.

2-4.
The other day at the commissary (grocery store on military base)I had in my cart 3 dozen eggs, four packs of bacon, lots of produce, and nothing else. This woman in line behind me (weighing in at at least 200 lb, way shorter than me at 5'10", 140) and she asked how long it would take my family to get through THAT MANY eggs. I said maybe a week at the most. She acted so disgusted and asked aren't I worried about all the cholesterol and fat in that many eggs? I couldn't think of a good response as I was caught totally off guard at her nosiness. But in her cart, I kid you not, was tons of white bread, Honeycomb cereal, frozen pizza, etc. Seriously.

Now THIS makes me feel like a n00b... I've been having two eggs per day this week.

Eek! poundcake, what a cheeky woman! Clearly, irony is not her strong suit....
I am a little behind on the egg consumption, but I'm upping it slowly. 2 eggs every other day, but plan on getting more in now!

Do you guys consider eggs superior to meat?
Posted 4 months ago # -
2-6, depends.
Posted 4 months ago # -
I have 3-6 eggs a day, usually prepared omelet style or sunny side up. I tend to melt some goat or sheeps milk cheese (sometimes fresh grated parm too) over them and top with hot sauce.

Usually 4 with my breakfast, maybe a few more later. Generally fried, soft yolk, but sometimes scrambled, boiled, or omelette.
Even high quality free range eggs are cheap in comparison to meat, and give a lot of nutritional "bang for your buck": protein, fat, cholesterol, vitamins. I think that's partly why they're so popular.

1-2 it's been a long time since i've eaten the whole egg (yolk included) so my body is adjusting to this. i get a bit bloaty if i have 3 eggs. but i'm easing into it :)

2-4 but I'm increasing this next week. I need to eat more fat.

I don't consider it superior to meat but it's a quick and easy breakfast... 6 eggs scrambled... butter on the pan.
