Hi, I'm new here...

Hi all. I'm Truckergirl, and I just discovered and started easing myself into the Primal lifestyle about a week and a half ago, and I love it. I've lost 8 lbs so far, and I don't get hungry anymore. I have gobs of energy.
My biggest trouble so far is finding the right foods. I'm a truck driver, and my husband and I drive team. We stay out on the road for up to three months at a time between weeks at home. We get our food from truckstops, which are full of packaged junk and fast food and very short on anything healthy. Right now I'm still getting used to not eating grains, beans, and starchy roots, and cutting way down on packaged, processed foods - organic and grass-fed will have to wait, though.
We did get by the house for one night, though and I got to cook primal style - sirloin steak, and steamed broccoli with hollandaise sauce. My husband insisted I make garlic bread, too, which I did. I cheated a little and had a small piece and I surprised to find that it didn't taste as good as I remembered. Even though it's only been a little over a week my tastes are already changing.I don't get much exercise in the cab of this truck, but I'm trying to add in a 30 min walk every other day, and I bought a 15 lb kettle ball for a little heavy lifting.
I'm reading The Paleo Diet now, and I would be reading Primal Blueprint, but it's not on Kindle (Mark! Please!!! Can we has your book on Kindle?)
Anywho, I just wanted to say hi, and what a godsend this site has been.
I started out a sedentary, 267lbs, energy-less person - I can't wait to see where this takes me.
Thanks, Mark! And it's nice to meet all of you.
PS - oh, and I'm keeping track of my progress on my blog: http://truckergirlrambles.blogspot.com if anyone is interested.

Welcome, and good for you for not letting your job/lifestyle be an excuse. . .I know you'll be up for the challenge, especially, like you say, with how good this way of eating makes you feel.
