Fell off the wagon and feeling like QUAP!

We did a lot of socializing last night - 2 parties to attend. I wasn't going to fuss much and make it my 20%. Ate rice and avoided wheat, ate whatever was primal. And ate small amount of dessert. Then we went to another party and the mister and the hosts started talking about something I had no clue about (their research and stuff) and I got bored and just out of boredom attacked the desserts (baklava ... WHEAT!!) ... one led to more and I'm feeling like crap today. More psychologically than physically. I checked the scale after I came home, heck, I was 8 lbs heavier!!! I know it'll be lower today, but still all these too often slips make me mad at myself. I've been on this 3 months and a cheat once or twice a month is fine, but I seem to do it more often, a spoonful of rice here and a spoonful of lentils there. Oh, and nuts all the time!
I know I'm eating way better than before but still all these slips make me mad at myself. Just a rant I wanted to share.

*hugs* Don't beat yourself up, otherwise the indulgence isn't and indulgence any more. Just climb back up and get back on track!
My new trick for social affairs is to arrive almost full. I have a meal before I leave, then I can choose to not eat at all, or just nibble on a treat.

*More Hugs*
Maba: It happens sometimes. I was visited by the Beer Fairy last night
;-)Today is a new day....

Maba, keep going, life happens. Please don't weigh yourself right after you've eaten a bunch of crap though! Wait a few days. Back to it today right?

Don't beat yourself up, maba. . .you are a very conscientious eater, so this is a good opportunity to review what made you fall--boredom!! Wouldn't it be great to just be able to say, "Excuse me, I'm bored," and whip out an iphone or something to amuse yourself? Oh, the frustration of being polite!
I like earthmomma's idea about eating before. . .if you're full, you might be less likely to pig out.

I like the idea of using the "incident" to review *why* you fell of the wagon... in my own case, I'm off it so often that I'm more running after it, yelling for it to wait for me...!
Not something I'm proud of, but awareness is a start!
Have you tried one of the Survival Weeks at all? Might help as a short term focus, as you mention little bits here and there.

Thank you all ... you're da best!
NorthernMonkey, I've always been shy of joining the Survival Week thinking I could never do it. May be I should join it and do just thing one at a time.

maba, I'm going to take a less compassionate stance than the others. IIRC, in the months we've been here, there have been a number of incidences of you doing The Carbaroni Cha Cha.
Now, I don't really care if you eat a sack or rice, or not, but I find it interesting that you came to the forum with guilt and seeking absolution!
Maybe this mindset I recently used will help: Last weekend was my high school class's reunion (don't ask how many!) It ran two evenings. I went into it knowing that I did NOT want to feel guilty or beat myself up come Sunday, but wanted to enjoy myself. I ate about 90% primal, meat dishes, of course. A small side of beans, no corn. A few beers, some fried plantain because here I could eat four pieces; if I fixed plantain at home it would be forty. Ate the same number of little sugary desserts, others had two, three times that. Saturday AM I had breakfast with some friends, and there I did have the great home fried potatoes and eggs Benedict that this humble joint serves. But I'd not been there for a year, so what the heck.
Now, having said this, I want to tell a story that happened about 23 years ago. I had a coworker, Linda, who had done years of the diet yo-yo. One day she wanted something that I had in my car trunk. We went out to the car, I opened it, and I swear as God is my witness, she snorted in excitement, eyes enlarged. She had seen some candy I had in there.
At the time I was Mr. Studley 200 lean pounds, so it was really an odd thing to try to understand.
Well, now I do, and that story also give ME permission to give you a hug.
Carry on.

maba, we also had a couple of days of festivities. No meat at all. We had a dinner party arranged in our apartment complex. I went to it, prestuffed with fried rice ;-), and ate very little.
Yesterday lunch was quite heavy with pooris and kachauris. After the lunch I weighed myself 77Kgs. The food was junk but very fatty, helped me take an IF (ie no dinner). Today morning its down to 75. I guess in a couple of days I will be back to 74. Still 4Kgs more to go.
I have eaten a lot of sweets during the last couple of days, gulab jamun, rabri, Dhoda. For the really bad stuff, I do portion handling.
