Dreaming?

I never used to dream. But ever since I've gone Primal (and started taking the supplements the Eades recommend), I'm dreaming vivid dreams almost every night.
This is a new experience for me. Anyone else experience this?

Could be a sign you're getting deeper/better sleep? I've always dreamt so can't comment anymore than that. I'll be interested to see what other people respond though.

Griff I have also been experiencing the same. I am not sure of remembering one's dreams is a symptom of not sleeping correctly or the opposite. My take would be the latter, as I snore way less than I used to. Or maybe it has nothing to do with being Primal, I am not sure.

Yes very vivid dreams. Kicked the lunesta too so I know something good is happening.

Definitely on the vivid side here. Pre-primal...didn't really dream. Now that I'm primal, I wake up and remember most of the craziness of my subconscious.

I've always been a dreamer... but after fun night at a gig last night I had a dream that I ate lots of cookies - they tasted RUBBISH and for a few minutes after waking I felt soooooo disappointed with myself ;)

I've always had very vivid dreams. I do know a great herbal tea that induces dreaming, though I rarely use it.

Es, that is really funny!!
This actually makes me think of a little project I did in HS health class on lucid dreaming (that is, being aware that you are dreaming and basically being able to control the dream environment. There were (are) apparently some devices that encourage lucidity during REM sleep for people who want to experience such states. Aside from being cool (anyone who's ever had lucid dreams can surely attest to that), they claimed other weird benefits. Anyway, I recall a story from one woman who would, in her lucid dreams, make appear and then devour mounds upon mounds of junk food. And when she would wake up, she claimed that she would not be hungry for those foods that she normally craved!!!! For some reason this anecdote has always stayed with me.In general, I think everyone "dreams", but not everyone remembers their dreams. Anxiety and stress are a major reason for this. We all know that one of the benefits of living primal-y is a general reduction in stress, so that may be one explanation :)

Oooh I like the version where you feel satisfied rather than disappointed! Fingers crossed for 'sweet' dreams tonight :)

DR: which tea?

I find my dreams are longer and more vivid when I am IFing. But yes, since going Primal my dreams in general have been more vivid. Still need to get the knack of that lucid dreaming thing, though. It's something I've always wanted to master.
MariaNYC: Sometimes junk food appears in my dreams and I do everything I can do avoid it but usually it will somehow end up in my mouth, and then I wake up all disappointed in myself -- and then realize it was just a dream. And then wonder if I've developed some kind of complex. Oh well.

The tea is pretty easy to make. It's equal parts catnip, mugwort and skullcap.

I've read that if you cannot remember your dreams, then your body isn't getting into REM sleep enough. So having vivid dreams means that you are finally getting restful, recovery inducing REM sleep! I definitely have some bizarre dreams, every once in a while they'll be lucid dreams where I can control things, and other times they'll scare me awake...I had one weird dream recently where I was stuck up a tree with two young bull elk trying to get me, it sounds lame but it was scary!

Thanks DR! Ill have to try it.
I just had a scary dream. I was going to have a kid. Yes... I was pregnant in my dream and FLIPPING out! LOL. I prefer the really weird ones where space and time seem to have turned upside down and I cant explain my dreams to anyone! I mean really... things happen that physically CANT in my dreams. Strange. I rarely ever have storyline dreams.

Well i dont know about you guys but when i was following the warrior diet I didnt have many dreams.I think its has also with the amount of food and time before bed.Now that I have a smaller meal after capoeira class I am able to sleep deeper and most of the times I have dreams
A note for the guys.I read somewhere, from a contributor in T-nation(I think it was Poliquin so take it with a grain of truth)that if you wake up most of the times in the morning and you have a boner, that means that you had a good night sleep and also your testosterone levels are in optimal amounts ;)
