    5'6" isn't tall. It's the sweet middle:)
OTB is a tall guy, isn't he?

  5. Well, I hate to break this to you, but the definition of a female Clydesdale is anyone who is over 140 lbs.

    So I qualify. Ha! :)

It's funny, when I was still a varsity athlete, I always felt 'normal' if not short. As the majority of the girls I played with/against we're similar height or taller.

Ever since that phase of my life has passed I've come to realize just how 'giant' I am in relation to normal people. Even other women I meet who are around the same height seem so much more fragile as they all weigh about 40 pounds less then I do.

Body composition is such an interesting thing...

    ccarrigan,

Kinda weird sometimes being a female with some muscle, isn't it? I've had guys comment to me that, "You could probably kick my ass, huh?". Which I guess I could, since I'm a martial artist---but that has nothing much to do with anything. I realize some have been intimidated by me; it used to make me sad until I realized that I didn't even WANT one of those guys, anyway.

At 5-9, I am only one inch shorter than my man (albeit 60 pounds lighter than he is)---but it doesn't bother him in the least. He LOVES that I'm not fragile. I still have occasional wistful moments of wanting to look like some bird-like Bollywood starlet...but he sets me straight pretty quickly :-D

    Diana,

Size 9 is a perfect size for feet, if that is what you have. I am a size 9, also.

Hey, I'm only 5'4-1/2", but I have size 9 feet! The way I figure it, my bigger base gives me better balance and stability.

(When I was little, my mom always told me I'd grow up to be tall because I had big feet. I blew that piece of folklore to bits.)

5'6" and a size 8 1/2 but there was a time when I weighed 64lbs more than I do now and I was a size 9. My feet shrunk when they weren't supporting all the additional weight. They aren't swelled up all the time anymore. Anyway who cares what size as long as we treat ourselves to a peddi now and again right!

I wonder how much taller we would be if we have been eating primally in our growing years?

I think I'm 5'4"ish. With monster feet. At the smallest, I can wear a 9 in a sandal but my toes will usually reach the edge. I usually need a 10 or 11 in dressy shoes or boots. I recently bought a size 12 pair of running shoes. I wear steel-toed shoes to work and I usually have to buy from the men's section. Hot!

    Though it could be worse.

I'm 6'4"! Size 12 (US size 13) feet, which is the point where finding shoes starts to get difficult. Certainly can't find any Vibrams or Vivos in my size available in the UK!

Being tall has its good and bad points, but as a keen music fan I have to say the best part is being able to stand anywhere and be able to see the band!

    I'm 6'1". Size 13 shoes also.

And for the record, Kuno can be quite scary when she wants to be, even if she does need to get on a step stool to look at me eye to eye. :)

    5'7 (and a bit) and a burly 150lbs. I take a US size 10 in Nike trainers (UK 7.5).
As a child I always wanted to be a six foot amazon and was disappointed when I stopped growing at the age of 14. Thus I decided if I couldn't be taller, I'd get wider instead.

So glad to chime in here!

I'm female, 5'10", and I wear size 11 shoes, sometimes 11.5 in running shoes. Weight usually fluctuates between 155-160lbs. My parents always called me "solid".

I am 5'6.5 also. It is funny that you are all talking about huge feet becasue I wear size 5.5-6 (US). some shoes don't even come in small enough sizes. Good thing is I can wear kids shoes and try on all the sample shoes without having to ask someone to get me a bigger size.
I think I have a really small frame on the bottom (size 4 pants) even though I am over 150 pounds (and it is not all muscle, trust me). But on the top I am much bigger with man shoulder, "fat" arms and a chest that doesn't fit into most medium shirts :(
It sucks... make me feel so out of proportion. I LOOKED great with a smaller chest and arms 110 pounds. But I think I am better off now without all my hair falling out from running and starving myself into a skeleton (my lowest weight was 102ish).
I want to be below 125. Good weight for my frame. I hate being bigger than my mom and older sister. I am the "solid" one too.
