tbh I think most cravings are mental rather than physical.

When I went primal all of my desire for alcohol kinda vanished, but I still kept (developed, even) a strong craving for dark chocolate.

We've just decided to make this a year of 'austerity' (to knock the mortgage on the head) and thus Chocolate falls into our 'luxury' category. So my sizeable chocolate supply has to last me the whole year. It's only been 9 days, but whenever I've asked myself "Do I really want to have some of my year's supply of chocolate", the answer has always been no so far.
Disclaimer: I eat 'meat and vegetables' ala Primal, although I don't agree with the carb curve. I like Perfect Health Diet and WAPF Lactofermentation a lot.

I think you're really right. I certainly think this on my own count. I'm just mentally weak. But not today.

I just eat what I want...

I find also PF that if I can distract myself for like a half hour it tends to pass. Reading seems to work pretty well for me.

I love a glass of red wine in the evenings also. When I need to lose the calories (ie: wine), I drink a homemade herbal tea. Not sure why it works as a replacement for me. It just does.

A juice/tea mixture? I love chugging Perrier as it is somehow similar in feeling to beer to me. It also helps to not have the wine available to drink!

I had soda cravings when I first started going Primal. I used to drink carbonated water and then slowly the cravings went away.
I would try non alcoholic beer or wine first and go from there. Or pick something similar in taste.

I think this is key to many cravings, or unnecessary snacking, just don't have it in the house
