    Question Are 'Beef Soup Bones' What I'm Looking For??

    I saw some bones at my local grocery store labeled 'Beef Soup Bones'. They were about 3 inches in length and no more than $1.50. I wanted to know if this is what I'm looking for if I wanted to dine on some bone marrow in the near future. Would I be able to take these bones, cook them in the oven and then eat the now cooked marrow? Thanks in advance!

    Yessir they should have some pink looking stuff in the middle which is probably waxy to the touch. Throw 'em under the broiler at 350 for 15-20 mins.

    ask your meat mongers behind the counter for center cut portions, which contain the most marrow.

    I just bought some of these for the first time today. Made some primal chili in the crock pot and put them in there. Can't wait to have them later tonight and suck out that chili-marrow goodness. Yum...

    Can't wait to get into my beef marrow bones Luckily I get them for free at my farmers market because the farmer has to pay to get them taken away lol

    @muaythaimike: Lucky you! I have to pay for all my grassfed variety cuts! Although they are not too expensive. I think the soup bones that are in my grocery store usually do not have much marrow in them, but fortunately they also carry really good marrow bones.
