    Help

My wife is becoming increasingly motivated to find some answers for her weight situation.

She is 5.10 and 108 lbs. She has looked at all sorts of ways of increasing her weight, but most only offer an expensive protein drink that is Soya based, which she is not keen on due to the adverse affects of Soya.

She is working out in the gym 3 times per week, is very active. She is looking to put weight on that fits within a balanced and healthy program.

    Any advice would be welcomed.

' Most only offer an expensive protein drink that is soya based ' ......... Who is offering this ? I can't think of anyone who knows their arse from their elbow that would push soya protein drinks over whey protein.

Adding weight I suspect is a function of eating more carbs and fat and protein and lifting weight. Any cardio at all would be counter productive. You ramp up muscle building and fat storage and get rid of any cardio work that will break down muscle and stress the body.

    Theoretically.

FWIW I am a big ol bear of a guy that has never had this issue so what do I know.

She needs to ensure she is eating a mix of the following at least 3 times per day:

Steak, eggs, bacon, pork chops, Gammon, beef mince, turkey mince, chicken, cottage cheese, yogurt, why protein, heavy cream.

She then needs to do a brief HIT session a couple of times per week focusing on a compound leg exercise, a horizontal push, a horizontal pull, a vertical push and a vertical pull. Each session she should strive to add either reps or weight to the bar.

The last factor is sleep, she needs plenty of this to recover from the workouts.

With these 3 factors taken care of she will definitely gain quality weight.

Thanks for the effort you made in order to help my wife, we have a few questions regarding your comments.

    1. What does HIT mean?
    2. What is compound leg ex?
    3. What is horizontal push & pull?
    4. What is vertical push & pull ?

Thanks we really appreciate your assistance.
