"all women are usually dizzy" - ???

This is a quote from a friend of mine today, about how every woman she's spoken to has claimed to be frequently dizzy or light headed to some extent every day, especially when getting out of bed/chair etc.

I but my tongue and didn't tell her to lay off the sugar and eat a steak, but what on earth is THAT about? I have never heard this.

Uh, never heard of such a thing. All my friends feel fine. Is she a time traveler coming from the days when women wear corsets and swoon?

Not to mention that women are naturally more on the low side of BP than on the high.

I don't know about all women, but I have experienced this on two occasions: 1) When my electrolytes are unbalanced from water loss and 2) Severe blood loss/anemia. If a woman is experiencing dizziness it's worth investigating those two possibilities as well as low blood pressure. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about blood sugar when it could be much more serious.

It's usually low blood pressure, low iron or general de-conditioning that show up on rising from bed or chair after resting for a while! It's very common and usually it will vanish completely by cardiovascular conditioning. Oh, it may be an indication of an illness, such as anemia, so a medical check should be done...

My blood pressure has always been on the low side and I have experienced lightheadedness every time I get up quickly for most is my life, except when I was fat.

    She's a witch!!!
"Ah, those endless forests, and their horror-haunted gloom! For what eternities have I wandered through them, a timid, hunted creature, starting at the least sound, frightened of my own shadow, keyed-up, ever alert and vigilant, ready on the instant to dash away in mad flight for my life. For I was the prey of all manner of fierce life that dwelt in the forest, and it was in ecstasies of fear that I fled before the hunting monsters."
