    Antelope meat dilemma

    Hey all, I have a problem. My brother called me up a few weeks ago to say that he had got his antelope, and he asked me if I wanted half of it! "Of course" I said! Well when he brought it to me, he had already taken it to the packing plant and had most of it ground into hamburger and breakfast sausage. Which is fine, but because antelope is such a lean, dry meat, the butcher grinds it with beef tallow (feedlot). Now I don't know what to do? Should I eat it and be thankful, or give it back (which makes me feel a little presumptuous). Any suggestions?

    How much is there? I'd not worry about it this time, just eat it once or twice a week and let your brother know about what you'd prefer next time, etc. Just bring it up casually, in a mood of gratitude.
    Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.

    if you are that stressed about it. grill it and remove the fat that drips out. that way you will get rid of some of it. at least it is beef fat not pig fat. personally i wouldnt worry about it and be very grateful i got some wild meat!

    LOL it would never make it thru customs or i would have said. Give it to me too!!!

    Thanks guys, but I think I'll keep it . I was told to rinse the burger under hot water in a strainer after it's cooked, before adding it to my recipe. I'll do that and be grateful for the free meat!!!

    Cattle really do metabolize the crap generally quite well. Your omega ratios may be a little off if you are used to eating mostly grass fed. Just throw in a few extra fish meals to balance it out, or add some fish oil. I wouldn't stress about this one at all.
