    Fun stuff Primal kiddo's say!

Inspired by a thread on a Dutch vegan forum.

I don't have any kids, though, so someone else will have to start.

    From my 2 year-old:
    At the petting zoo:
    Kid:"Mommy? I eat chicken meat?"
Me:"Yep, we eat chickens... Not those. Those aren't our chickens."
    Kid:*tantrum*

Kid:"I needs rectangle butter in my mouth."

What was the tantrum about, eating chicken?
I do believe that a vegetarian diet can be healthy, as long as it doesn't have the fake stuff, and lots of fats from advocados and CO and stuff - but I often find that kids want to be vegetarian after finding out that they actually eat the animals that walk around in petting zoos and such. Sometimes, but thankfully not very often, I read something about a parent telling the kid: "Those animals were *created by God/bred/born* for us to eat. They don't mind."

Yeah, sure, they don't mind being crammed in small spaces. But, that's for another topic.

Some excerpts from my too-inquisitive 5-year old:

"Do those crackers have GMOs in them?"

"Why do my daycare teachers say that hot dogs are healthy food?"

This is what he said to his daycare teacher as I was picking him up one day: " I'm going to go home and eat healthy food."
I came to Primal/Paleo first to lose weight, but kept up because of the way I feel - amazing.

It's debatable whether 15yo is still a kid, but DD has been a bit reluctant to make the transition. Initially she hated the idea of eating animals she might have actually seen while alive.

I cooked some lamb shoulder in the crock pot. She was picking at it, grabbed a chunk with much fat attached. She asked,"Is this fat OK?" I don't care for meat fat myself, but not wanting to steer her said, "It's been cooking in meat juice all day. I imagine it's delicious." Her response, "We get the best meat now! Happy animals taste so much better. I think they don't have so many bad hormones." Ya think?

My father in law was asking my daughter how the old "Snap, Crackle, Pop...." (rice krispies) song ended while he sang it to her. She said without missing a beat - "Bacon!"
