safety of door frame pull up bars

I've been using one I bought for about $35 for 6 months and it's been solid so far. The fear of it breaking is always in the back of my mind though. Are these things safe for long term usage, i.e. years?

If it is still in good condition as in no cracked welds, missing bolts, corrosion, etc. I'd say it's fine. If you are still concerned look at getting something more solid like a Stud Bar.

Mine is inexpensive and has worked fine. Now the cheap ass trim around my door that broke and made me land on my back on the floor is a different story

Yeah. It was a couple of years ago. If I recall, my daughter may have learned a few new choice phrases as a result of the incident. I immediately ripped off the cheap trim and screwed a solid piece of 1x3 into the studs. It has been fine ever since.

...my daughter, well, at least her vocabulary increased

    Hey Dizzyorange,

I have been using a $39 one I got From Dick's sporting goods for almost 4 years now. No problems. Use it daily and have taken it everywhere.

Worst thing that's happened to me with one of those is it falling hard on my shoulder when I accidentally shut the door on it.
