Just as the title states...does anyone know anything about amaranth (gluten free grain, so they say)? How much negative effect could it have on a person living primal? It was a staple in the ancient Aztec diet so would this fall under Primal no-no or Primal go-go (or even somewhere in the eat once every week or so region like potatoes?)

My vegan friends are crazy about the (smelly) stuff but I agree it should probably be germinated. I'd rank it with buckwheat--lack of gluten is nice but it's not without its own allergenic defenses.
