Yeah, meat and milk is more than enough. You could drop the milk entirely and eat whole animals stew style and be golden. Everything the body needs can be found - gasp - in other bodies!

Yes vegetables are absolutely necessary. Meat and dairy are extremeley acidic and vegetables are extremely alkaline. They balance each other out.

I find I don't make many trips to the loo unless I have fruits and veggies in my diet. Too much protein doesn't agree with me, I need the balance.

You and Grizz should start your own special woo-woo forum somewhere else. This makes no sense. Sounds like vegan voodoo. No science supports this. Next.

I wish someone would explain this scientifically, because it doesn't make any sense to me and I've seen it twice in this thread. Wikipedia seems to say there isn't any real evidence for alkaline diets being measurably beneficial. I love veggies and I'm not giving them up, but this seems like a lot of woo.

A friend of a friend was a vegetarian, having health issues, and was told by her doctor, "You can't be vegetarian anymore because you're bad at it."

I feel like giving up vegetables would put me in the same situation.

Vegetables aren't necessary for my body to be healthy, I don't think. Fiber in general aggravates me, makes me bloated & gassy. I'm feel better with meat, eggs, avocado dense caloric foods (dairy, protein & fat). I actually feel better eating low fiber junk food than a lot of vegetables

The only reason I eat veggies is because I can put butter on them.

There is an extremely broad range of diets which humans from various cultures survive and thrive on. People who don't eat vegetables seem to do okay.
