    I usually grind a cup fresh each morning and drink it black. If you get the water:coffee ratio right and you time your brew correctly, black coffee tastes great on its own. I will say that a lot of commercial coffee tastes like shit, though.

    1/2 pot fresh ground organic cheap coffee, add 1 cup Aroy-D coconut milk, 1 tbsp molasses, sometimes a pinch of cocoa powder (or more rarely a glop of Torani chocolate syrup I inherited from relatives, it's a couple years old, trying to use it up!) or baking soda depending on what the day holds.

    Lately been using raw sugar, gelatin, and either half and half or milk.

    I make 3 french press pots of coffee in the morning and fill up an air pot. DH drinks it all day, I only drink coffee in the morning. By afternoon, the cups of coffee need a few microwaves to be hot enough. I drink my first cup of coffee in the morning with a tablespoon of coconut oil blended in with an immersion blender. Any other cups of coffee I drink in the morning are black. As long as I'm having my coffee with food, I like it black.

    I tried the gelatin, too thick for me to drink...I mean, I manned up and drank it anyway, but I think I'll stick to the occasional kombucha jello for gelatin intake instead.

    Great Lakes hydrolyzed gelatin doesn't gel. It's water soluble.

    I don't like coffee but I drink it in the morning black, I don't want any extra calories or anything.
