Are sleeping masks hurting more than helping?
I am striving to find more ways in order to live primal-savvy. I have been reading about natural sleep cycles and am wondering if my sleeping mask is doing more harm than good? I have been using a sleeping mask since high school because I was/am such a light sleeper. Now it is just a nightly habit. I know I never wake-up to light because I block it out. Any nuggets of wisdom? Thank you!
My wife swears by her sleep mask. I can't stand it. When I tried to get more natural sleep I failed miserably at first. I use a fitbit to monitor my sleep and do the "soft" vibration alarm. I've also used the sleep apps on my iphone that monitor bed motion during sleep to wake you up at the lightest part of the sleep cycle. I'm not a sleep expert, but this really worked for me. (I've been doing it since December and I'm 10x more rested when I wake up)
I toss a piece of black cloth across my face. It's never on my face when I wake up in the morning.
I sleep with one, and find it to to a major PITA..... so I put room darkening film and blackout curtains on the windows.
No thanks. I'm already pretty tranquil....
