    Anyone try Quest Protein Bars.....

Quest Low Carb Gluten Free Protein Bars - Official Site

before I get bashed here, I don't eat these at all regularly, and I know whole foods are better - just have a beach trip planned with little food available so these look kinda nice for my trip- anyone else?

As far as manufactured protein bars go, I think these are probably just about the best out there.

I would agree with this, but they still have that whey pasty mouth feel that all "protein" bars do. As a candy bar, I prefer the Kind carb bombs. As a protein source, I prefer a couple of hard boiled eggs liberally seasoned with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.

Well we don't apparently disagree at all. I presently use some unflavored, unsweetened whey for the muscle protein synthesis benefits/BCAA content, along with the fact that it's so unfilling, but that's a temporary measure to help elicit some growth. I also eat eggs like they're going out of style (~60 super jumbos a week).

For long-term health, I'm 100% in the "eat real food" camp. Never had a Quest bar in my life, so I can't comment on the taste.

The ingredients are okay compared to other protein bars. But I have actually tasted these, and they taste like crap. Seriously, it tastes completely artificial. Try one if you don't believe me. They sell them at GNC.

You'd be better off bringing jerky with you. If you want bars, Larabars and Kind bars both taste better.

1-3G compared with KIND bars that are over 10 grams

I don't mind taste if they are healthy.
Quest bars profile are good in that regard.

I actually don't think they taste bad. Some are better than others. I think the cinnamon and berry ones are better than the peanut butter chocolate, personally.
