i got popcorn at the movies all my life, whether i was hungry or not. mindless eating of the worst sort.
eat before you go. even a long movie is only a couple of hours -- a meal should tide you over for at least 5-6 hours so you're not thinking about cookies or junk. make plans to go out to eat before or after. what you spent on pretzels and at starbucks could buy you a nice salad someplace and you'd still be spending time with your friend.
As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.
