    With all this coffee talk lately, my own googling just brought me to the knowledge that they also make stainless steel moka pots. And mine might even be one of them. So even if there's a worry, buy that instead?

    I used to have one just like that but I tossed it in the recycling bin and got a stainless steel one. They cost more but they will last generations. We have three sizes now depending on how much coffee we make. Our big one and a teeny single serving one were from my wife's Italian grandmother. I have no idea how old they are but I'm pretty sure the handle isn't bakelite...
