I had wondered of B12 sublingual drops and of their effectiveness. Any brands specifically that I might look in to? I had partly believed the "rush" from the monster was mostly sugar and was the reason I craved it randomly. (even when I was not tired.)

Thanks everyone for your posts thus far! It seems I have some solutions for the immediate as well as some to look into as additional options since a perfect sleeping schedule between my job and my home (little kids) will be impossible!

I actually make my own energy drink using taurine, b1, b6, sugar, cream and iced coffee. I shake it up in a blender bottle, and take it to work.

Making bulks of it is a lot cheaper than energy drinks too.

Interesting that you make your own. At least you avoid the randomness and unknown of what commercially is processed into drinks as well as know the source of your own ingredients...

You need Bulletproof Coffee. You don't need the fancy ingredients to make this. A decent coffee, coconut oil and Kerrygold will do it. I like to add unsweetened cocoa powder and I tend not to use anywhere near the amount of butter he recommends, but if you are a young, active guy and want to try this fasting thing (without the actual fasting), fasting on a bulletproof coffee might be what you are looking for.

Butter and coffee seems strange but worth a try! And overall, a lot of great suggestions! Thank you all for your assistance to get me off my Monster drink dependence!! It is nice to have a community that is this helpful!

Yeah, just make coffee or tea.

If you absolutely must have some chemical-based energy drink, 5 Hour Energy isn't so bad, considering.

I've spent years as a ships captain always doing night cruising and my number one stay awake tip is dark chocolate coated expresso coffee beans.

Starbucks does them in Europe but some specialist coffee shop do way better. I did think once about melting dark chocolate and mixing fresh ground expresso in but it seemed like a lot if hassle to improve something that's almost perfect anyway.

Actually that sounds like a worthwhile project.

Steaz makes zero calorie (and regular) energy drinks that are pretty natural, the zero calorie ones are sweetened with stevia. Energy - Berry Zero Calorie My husband is a Monster addict, he's tried them and liked them, but is trying to give up the mega caffeine (and associated $$) habit right now and just sticking with coffee.

Sometimes 2-3 a day?? That must add up in your wallet by the end of the month.
