    Could this have something to do with Primal? I have been on primal 3 1/2 weeks now or so. I have left my cellphone 5 different places. (This did not happen before) I lost my shoes in my own house (again, hasn't happened before) and I am pretty young. I am spacing out sort of.

    I am eating a fair amount of fat (I eat animal fat, including bacon and other, and I'm using olive oil liberally, butter occasionally. I'm eating probably 2/3rds meat 1/3rd vegetables and may have a touch of goat cheese with minimal ingredients or a square of dark chocolate every now and then.

    Could I be deficient of some mineral? At first I was feeling more energetic, especially probably during week 2, but now I am just in a big brain fog and keep losing EVERYTHING. Has anyone experienced this?

    Never heard of anyone having this type of experience before, so I don't know what's causing it. Maybe it's just a coincidence, who knows?

    As for the brain fog, start adding in some carbs and see how you feel. The fact is that some people just don't function well on low carbs.

    Thanks. Any suggestions? Would you add more starchy carbs like a sweet potato or just some more broccoli/greens?

    I really do believe you may need to add a bit more starchy carbohydrate to your diet like sweet potatoes and winter squash. It sounds like you may have gone a little TOO low carb and your brain needs a little bit of natural sugar to function properly! It happens to me. The second I start forgetting things or feeling out of sorts, I know I need a little carb and I just have a spaghetti squash snack. Works like a charm.

    Like GiGi said, sweet potato/white rice or starchy vegetables.

    Thanks. I will try the sweet potato in hopes I can get my sanity back. I thought white rice was offlimits for some reason?

    Not everyone Paleo eats white rice but it's pretty harmless stuff. I have it whenever I go out for sushi. Try the sweet or white potatoes and head for the rice if need be. Nobody wants to see you have to buy a new phone or shoes.
