Good Gut News, Bad Gut News

    Two rather opposing studies:
The good news is that your good gut bacteria may save you life.

Intestinal microbiota determine severity of myocardial infarction in rats

The bad gut news is that similar gut bateria may produce TMAO from digesting meat and eggs that increase the risk of death by heart attack.
Gut Bacteria Implicated In Heart Attacks, Stroke
(I couldn't find the study report.)

Lots of studies are being done today of gut bacteria. It seems to be the new fad. Even "The View" is recommending probiotics.

Thanks, upupandaway, for the excellent rebuttal of the Bad Gut News. Makes me feel a lot better.

Researchers should be required to do a review of the past literature and submit it before having their study approved.
