    Breaking Mom traps/bad habits

    Hi! I'm a mom of 2 boys...3 and 6.

I've been falling into "mom traps" that I want support to stop:
    1. Eating/picking while preparing and cleaning up meals.
    2. Eating of kids plates.

I make great progress when I use IF during meal prep/clean up...

Any one want to break a bad habit?

Wow ! I saved so much mindless eating (and calories) by IFing from these two things yesterday. Awesome!

so tonight, picked a little after dinner talking with my boys - watermelon...about 1 1/2 cups. Realizing how much the picking really adds up.

What bad habit is wrecking your goals?

I eat ALL DAY LONG!!! It's all primal, but I eat ALL DAY LONG!!! I do much better on the days that we're out during the day. And I try to eat carrots and things like that as snacks, but I find I'm still rummaging in the fridge and cupboard ALL DAY LONG!!!

That's my problem in a nutshell!

You could be full already from your own dinner?
Disclaimer: I eat 'meat and vegetables' ala Primal, although I don't agree with the carb curve. I like Perfect Health Diet and WAPF Lactofermentation a lot.

yep, I know I'm already full. more like the snacking is something "pleasant" in the unpleasant task of kitchen cleaning. I'll just have to suck it up and get through this chore of living.

I am home full time. That's my problem. And we're trying not to spend money, so going anywhere with all the kids has to be planned out (pack lunches, go some place that's free) and I tend to just send them outside to play instead. Bored? Yes. I don't think I was ever cut out for this SAHM thing but I would never trust anyone else to do it and I'd miss them all too much if I worked! (I have 6 kids ages 16 to 3.)

I don't have any good advice for you. Just commiserating!
