Why did I wait 28 years to eat this?!
So we bought some bones at our butcher the other day and we finally got around to making the them today. We cooked them in the oven at 375 for about 20 min (they were big bones!) in one of our cast iron skillets. As my husband was getting all of the marrow out, I fried up some onions in the drippings. We then poured the onions, fat and all, over the marrow. OH MY GOD - it was AMAZING!
I have 2 questions now that we're sitting here having delicious goodness filling our stomachs:
1. Why did I wait so long to try this?
2. What can I do for my hard to work hard to keep this a secret so other people don't buy all the bones?
3. When am I going to the butcher next to buy some more?
We're using the bones now to make a broth and I can't wait to put that to use. MMMMMM
