Kangaroo meat and L-carnitine
I love kangaroo meat.
Has a strong flavour that many don't like but I do.
I usually put it into a salad to take to work.
Also makes the best biltong.
Not bred or farmed in the traditional sense and easily available in Australian stupermarkets.
How paleo/primal can you get?
Kangaroo meat not as healthy as you think
Is this just another silly study or does carnitine (through creating trimethylamine N-oxide in the gut) really damage the arteries?
I am not going to stop eating kangaroo because of this but I would like to know.
They're already working on the basis that dietary cholesterol and red meat causes heart disease. Already false so I doubt anything else they mention is very accurate ...
The subject already got a thorough thrashing here:
Not specifically about kanga but red meat in general in re L-carnitine.
p.s. send us poor Yanks some roo please.
Awesome, perfect. Thanks Paleobird!
