    calf cramps

Last couple nights I have been getting horrible calf cramps while I sleep. So bad last night they are still sore now. Am I deficient in something?

What helped me was vitamin E.

I'm thinking it's lack of potassium. Try eating an avocado or a banana. Or both

    Sodium is important too.

    haha, cue a million suggestions.

Mine is magnesium. It could just be electrolyte imbalance, which is potassium, sodium, and magnesium.

I was thinking lack of potassium, but I eat 1-2 bananas a day and avocados a few times a week.

Sodium could be. I don't salt anything, but I do eat a ton of salted/shelled sunflower seeds, which I think also high in vitamin E.

For me it's vit B and Magnesium. I get enough from a multivitamin. 2 weeks without or a multivitamin without Mg or B - and cramps are back.

Magnesium! I bet that could be it. Diet is no different, but I haven't taken an Espon salt bath in a few weeks. Normally I take 2-3 week (but been out of salt and keep forgetting to pick up).

I have too, a couple of times in last 2 weeks.....I thought it might be due to increased exercise, and maybe not hydrating well enough......I am about 6 weeks into grain-free diet, and going more primal all the time, higher fats and lower carbs.....I take a multivitamin every day, eat lots of magnesium rich food (spinach, nuts, avocado).....

Magnesium is the most frequent issue...... then the other electrolytes. I would start with salting your food more and the epsom salt baths.
