    Primal Popcorn

    Shop Now
    Hello,

I love microwave popcorn and I still have it about once or twice a week but am looking for a primal substitute for it.

I have heard of cauliflower popcorn but does anyone have a recipe for primal popcorn that they think is #1?

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Not sure what you mean by 'primal popcorn', seeing as corn ain't primal.

Having said that, I make some actual popcorn every couple of months with coconut oil, sprinkled with lots of seasalt and smoked paprika as part of my 20%.*

If I were to eat pop corn, then it would be a handful of pop corn popped in a splash of olive oil and salt in a deep pot on the stove at medium temperature.

Microwave pop corn is full of chemicals and way too much salt.

If I still ate popcorn I would air-pop it and drench it with real butter.

I found some non-GMO popcorn on Amazon, and it's really easy to pop in the microwave yourself.

    1. Just put about 1/4 cup of the kernels in a paper bug, the kind you used to take your lunch to school when you were a kid.
    2. Fold over the bag twice at the top and crease it. No need to secure it.
    3. Put it in the microwave on high for about a minute and a half (maybe a LITTLE bit longer, but not much). You'll have to keep an eye on it because timing is going to vary, and it might still be popping when it's time to take it out. Too long and it scorches, which doesn't taste or smell good.
    4. When it's done, pour it into a bowl and top with whatever you want. I usually go with just salt and a lot of melted butter.

You can put butter or oil in the bag before you pop it, but it pops just fine without it and I found most of the butter/oil just stuck to the bag and was a waste.

Paleo popcorn rocks! Dont have it much tho on account of shelling a fresh coconut is a lot of dangerous work for me . I'll definitely try the coconut chips as a safer option
