    Fanned potatoes with no crumbs?

Saw this recipe, and it looks very festive. I am wondering if it could be made easily with just cheese or coconut flakes?

Absolutely - I make them a lot for my children (although we call them hasselback potatoes) with just butter and garlic. They work perfectly every time!

hassleback potatoes are great and look like you spent ages making them. like Olivia I use butter and garlic but use a sprinkle of parmesan which makes the edges crunchy.
I've never seen bread sprinkled on them before and cant imagine it adds anything to them at all!
When I'd had enough of the grain and starched based 'diabetic eating for health' diet (eating for health, my ass!) my weight was 242.5 lbs. On starting primal- 18th April 2013 weight : 238.1.
    27th July 2013. weight after 100 days 136.9 weight lost 101.2lb ; that's 105.6lbs since I stopped the 'diabetic eating for health'

I make Hasselback potatoes using duck fat to cook them in - delicious. About 20 minutes before they are ready, sprinkle generously with either parmesan cheese, crushed garlic or dried thyme. Not all three!!!

I have never seen them with breadcrumbs.
